Existing User with new phone

Hello!

I've just purchased a new phone and would like to sync with My Phone Explorer.

When I sync my new phone MyPhoneExplorer tried to set up a new user.
I'm assuming this is because of the new phone.
The new user does not have all my contacts.
How can I port my existing data, contacts, calendar events to my new phone as the existing user?

Thank you,

Semrad

(with old fone plugged in), EXTRAS/Create Backup.

This also works with no phone plugged in. You can make a backup of your old set from MPE's memory if you don't have the old phone anymore.

(With new phone plugged in), EXTRAS/Restore Backup.

This get you the opportunity to transfer all the SMS, contacts, tasks, etc that were on the old phone to the new one.

Hope that helps.

That's easy.

--> start MPE
--> file -> user -> click the old user
--> select all contacts (CTRL+A)
--> copy contacts to clipboard (CTRL+C)
--> file -> user -> click the new user
--> paste clipboard contents (CTRL+V)

You can do that with the other data as well.
I've done that between several android phones in the past.
The above is only important if you only sync with MPE and phone.

Since I use MS Office Outlook 2003 as my PIM, I set sync from Outlook to phone and especially "Force outlook to phone" at the first sync. That way Outlook is my main source of data and is always synced to whatever phone I have (without resorting to copy/paste).

But if you only sync between device and MPE the copy/paste trick works great between users/phones :-)
Cheers

Thank you but not getting errors.....

I renamed the existing phone, before reading your reply.
Starting MPE I receive two errors and the software will not start.....

Errors are:
Rune-time error 440
Automation error

Pressing OK shows the next error
Run-time error 372
Failed to load control Phonebook form.
Your version may be outdated.

How do I make certian I am using the correct control version?
Any help would be appreciated.

Robert

This is a known issue which does happen if you restart MyPhoneExplorer very often in the same windows session. Fix: Just restart your PC
