I use both USB and Bluetooth connection between my PC and (Android) phone, when synchronising with MPE. I often get caught out after starting MPE up with the connection setting set to 'the wrong one'. I only realise this after MPE comes back with an error message like 'the phone can't be identified'.
I haven't spotted any indication on MPE's main window that shows the current connection setting type. Unless I have missed this, could I ask that you consider adding something. I would then be able to see instantly whether or not I need to change the connection setting before I try synchronising (and without having to bother xxx through 'File/Settings' to check).
Thank you. |

On mine I have the text 'User loaded: DesireHD' at the bottom of the window. If I press the 'F1' key to connect this changes to 'Phone connected: DesireHD via WiFi'. (My 'user' is 'DesireHD' and wifi is my preferred connection type).
Don't know what happens with a USB or BT connection though, you'll need to check.
Does that help? |

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, F1 simply actions a connection using whichever type happens to be chosen in Settings. I can press F2 to display the Settings window and see which connection type is checked. What I wanted ideally though was for the in-force connection type to be shown on the main window to save having to do this.
(Additionally, it would also make life easier if the different options in the 'Connect via' list on the Settings page each had a letter underlined. That way, users could use the Windows keyboard shortcut to quickly change selection using Alt+the underlined letter.) |

What speaks against using the connection type "Automatic" ? |
