Hello

I am running the following stock rom version on my S4 (GT-9505) - i9505XXUAMDD. My phones does NOT have samsung knox on it (I made sure of that when I bought it)

When I enabled USB debugging for the first time and connected to my windows 8 pc and then got a prompt on the phone asking me to allow a new device to connect to the phone, i.e my computer. I clicked the tickbox to allways allow this device to connect.

I have tried this on my main PC and my laptop, both of which are running windows 8 and I get the same issue/error

"connection could not be established: phone could not be identified"

I am happy to beta test this issue as I really need MPE to work.

update

The problem seems to be isolated to USB as I was able to do a sync over Bluetooth. We really need MPE to work without USB debugging turned on.

[fixed]

The usb problem was a result of either the rom I had been using or more likely some system app/service I removed.

After a fresh wipe and install of the above rom MPE is now syncing over USB again.

But I stand by my last comment though, USB debugging leaves the phone unsecured. Like most people I leave it on and all it takes is someone malicious to plug the phone in to another PC to read the data off the phone etc.

Thanks to this post I could partialy solve my S4 (Android 4.3) sync prob.

Yes the problem seems to be isolated to USB since as I was able to do a sync over Wi-Fi very quickly and easly.

Via Wi-Fi only screen capture does not work.
