Hello,
I have been using MPE almost a year without any problems, together with my Xperia Go (Android 4.1.2) and Windows XP.
Yesterday I updated the computer to Windows 7, and after that I cannot establish connection between the phone and the computer. "No unit connected through USB" it says.
I cannot figure it out where the problem is. Surely it cannot be the phone, cause it is exactly the same phone as before?
Many thanks!
P.S May I had that Windows 7 recognise the phone, i.e I can browse in the phone´s file cabinet through Window explorer |

Are USB-/ADB drivers installed without any conflict in windows devicemanager?
If you don't have that drivers for your phone, you can try the "General ADB drivers" like in our FAQ's.
best regards... |

Are you reffering to the phone or the PC? Cause I installed "everything" on the phone when I started using MPE a year ago. And since the same phone worked perfectly with MPE on Windows XP, I didn't consider the phone as the problem.
If ther was a USB conflict on the PC, Windows 7 itself shouldn't be able to communcate with the phone at all, should it? |

This USB-/ADB-driver is needed to be installed on your PC if you want to connect MPE via USB cable. If driver is installed correct and cable is connected, you should see an "Android ADB device" (or something corresponding) in your devicemanager on PC.
Maybe the drivers for XP were installed with Sony's Xperia software before.
For USB connection do also remember that "USB-Debugging" must be activated in your smartphone.
If you can browse your phone from Windows Explorer, this does not mean the drivers are installed, your phone will connect in another mode (not ADB) and uses it's memory like an external USB stick.
For connections via WiFi or Bluetooth, you don't need any drivers. |
