I previously used a Samsung Android smartphone, with MPE. I recently switched to a LG Android smartphone. When switching, I asked here the best way to transfer my data and I was answered to do a backup and then a restore. And it worked. But.

Previously, all my agenda data was in an agenda called MyAgenda. I use Jorte and it seems Jorte is able to handle better agenda data if it is stored in MyAgenda. When I transferred the data, all agenda data landed in an agenda called "LG Pc Suite", and this agenda is not handled so nicely by Jorte. For example, I am unable to delete individual items from a series, I can only destroy whole recurrent series. I am guessing this happened because I installed Jorte *after* restoring the agenda data. I am unable to move data from the LG PC Suite agenda to MyAgenda, it seems this is something which is not possible in Android. But also, MPE only sees LG PC Suite agenda data, if I create new agenda entries in MyAgenda, they are never synchronized with my PC.

I am not sure I am being quite clear, but I must confess this is not entirely clear to me.

What would be the best way to correct this? Re-backup and re-restore now that Jorte is installed? Would MPE give me the choice of the destination agenda when restoring in this situation? Should I at some point destroy the new "user" created in the PC MPE application and then re-create it?

I took a look at the contents of the .BP file. This seems pretty easy to edit.

I am thinking of a manipulation: backup my LG, edit the backup and restore. But I need a few confirmations before I mess everything up.

In my Samsung backup, I find : In my LG backup, I find : I am guessing replacing the LG strings with the previous would do the trick. But I don't know how restore works. Does it wipe out everything before restoring? It it does, all I have to do is 1:backup, 2:edit, 3:restore. If restore does not erase anything in the phone, then I guess I'd better remove everything from the backup in order to keep only agenda entries i.e. everything after and before the next Thus, I'd have only the agenda entries to de-duplicate.

I think in your case its better to do it this way:
- ensure that the right calendar is set in the settings of MyPhoneExplorer Client for "Add new events to..."
- then import the backup file into calendar instead of restoring it. This will help you to see eventual duplicates BEFORE they are created on the phone
- then sync

Since there is no calendar called "My Calendar" in your LG MyPhoneExplorer will add them to the default selected calendar, its not needed to modify the X-CALENDAR-Tags.

Thanks for your answer. Your suggestion does not work because MyCalendar does not appear in the choices. There is something fishy here, this is not the first time MyCalendar does not appear somewhere, so I don't think MPE is responsible for this. Actually, I am starting to wonder if the backup+restore+fiddling in my agenda(s) did not break something in the database. Since Jorte has this requisite which seems annoying to me, I am thinking of switching to another agenda, which means my problem is probably going to disappear.

As i said - MyCalendar will not exist in your LG phone cause its the default calendar of Samsung phones. You can also create a new local calendar in the settings of MyPhoneExplorer Client.

Ah, that's the part I hadn't understood. Thanks for making this clear.

Anyhow, I since switched to Business Calendar and decided to use the standard Google calendar (instead of the non-Google-synced MyCalendar). Of course, this means I must be more weary of privacy, but this solution has it's advantages too.
