First off, love the software, truly awesome, way better than anything i've ever used (samsung kies a complete POS). i looked around and couldn't find if this feature exists

itd be great to have an option to sync when the phone is put on a charger (i e a cradle or dock on the nightstand at bedtime) or an option to initiate the sync from the phone instead of having to come to the PC

In the settings you can activate that "MultiSync" is started whenever MyPhoneExplorer does automatically connect your device.
If you charge your phone on PC then this will work, otherwise you could automate the launch of MyPhoneExplorer Client with Tasker or simlar apps when the phone is in cradle - and if the PC does detect the phone in WiFi range then the sync will be done automatically too.
