Hello

I have been a user of MPE for the last few years, I have also donated because the product is so good.

But today I want to download and install MPE on the spare pc and found the installer from the new "DownloadBestSoft" download link comes with MALWARE and search bar hijacker built in.

Now I unselected the various unwelcome options that the installer annoying me with, but the final straw was finding that the DELTA SEARCH CHROME application silently installed itself despite be "unselected". I also found it hijacked the search and newtab options in firefox.

I appreciate why you have these options in the installer, but the way the installer presents itself is not really acceptable.

regards

Paid up MPE user.

You are shouting at the wrong guy. If you use a proper download source for the MPE there will be no hidden stuff and no maleware.
You can´t blame FJ for some jerk turning his software into something different.

Check out this site: http://www.fjsoft.at/de/downloads.php and stay away from dubious websites.

@Koelner: In this case i am the right guy.

@b1k3rdude: I do earn some dollars with the ad screens in the setup. The whole application is then without promotion screens or any other things to earn money so please understand my position.

I just tested the setup and i did not see any malfunction. You get promotion, if you click on Accept then it will be installed. But if you click on Decline then NOTHING gets installed. I think its not too hard to click on Decline right ?

@FJ, after some checking I eventually understood how the Malware got on the PC and its down to the way the buttons look in the installer.

On the "promotion" screen the 'decline' button is partially greyed out and after I unticked the 'toolbar & search hijack' options(see attached image) I assumed because the decline button was grey-out I had to click on accept.

The 'greying out' of the decline button is a cheeky as it makes the end user think that something hasent been ticked and that the accept button should be ticked etc. (which is how I got caught out.)

So can you request BestSoft to change the decline button so it is NOT greyed out please?!

thanks (ps, I removed the shouting from the first post)

This should be already done for a long time. I requested my partner to change this behaviour already months ago. I will contact them again....
