I have multiple address books in Thunderbird which I sync with MPE to my w810i.
Is there an easy way to achieve a sync of all the address books at once?
At this time, I sync each address book one at a time.
1. File > Options (or F2)
2. Go to |Sync| from the list on the left pane.
3. Go to |Contacts| in the right pane
4. From the drop down list select 'Thunderbird'
5. Click the [Advanced] button
6. This will open up another window and fire up Thunderbird if it was not open already
7. In the window - a. choose the relevant profile and then b. choose the specific address book.
8. Select (o) Force Thunderbird -> Phone
9. Click OK from that window
10. Click OK from the the 'Sync' window
11. Go to Contacts > Phone and then click |Synchronise|
12. MPE will connect to phone
13. It will open a 'Confirmation for Sync' window with a list of all the contacts that will be synced.
14. The contacts from the address book selected will show a 'green +' next to it.
15. Below all these 'Green +' contacts there are other contacts which have a 'Red No entry' sign next to it and default selection of (o) delete entry in phone.
16. I change that to (o) never sync in future and the sign turns to the 'thunderbird icon'.
17. I then click OK in the 'Confirmation for Sync' window.
18. Phone beeps when the sync is done.
And then I follow the same process for all the rest of the Address Books.
It does get a little hard since I have a 5 address books to sync.
Am I doing things in a very 'dumbkof!" way?
Is there an easier, simpler way?? |

Thank you FJ.
So, I am not using a 'wrong' or 'stupid' way??!! |

I've been playing around with MPE.
And thought of this workaround.
I can export each of my Thunderbird address book as LDIF files to my desktop. That is: 1.ldif, 2.ldif........upto 5.ldif
Then in MPE, I import these files from my desktop one by one...1.ldif, 2.ldif....upto 5.ldif.
This will give me ALL my contacts in MPE.
I then set the contacts to sync to 'Only MyPhoneExplorer'.
Then do a sync.
Would this work?
The import and export of .ldif is a lot easier than syncing with thunderbird, deleting contacts and syncing the phone. |

Yes - this works also, but maybe it would be easier to have only one Addressbook in Thunderbird. |

I guess one address book in Thunderbird would be the best option. But the separate address books help me organise various activities.
Danke Schon anyhow. |
