Phone could not be identified

Hello. I have a K300i with a DU-11 USB cable, and I have always used My Phone Explorer to upload/download things on my cellphone.

It's been quite a while since the last time I used it, and today when I tried to download a video from my camera, the program showed an error message saying "Phone could not be identified".

I tried re-installing, rebooting my machine, taking off the battery for 2 minutes but nothing worked.

The options are set right... I have put "COM 3 CP210x USB to UART Bridge Controller" as the port, 115200 tax rate, but it doesn't recognize my cellphone.

Does anyone knows how to solve this?

Hi

please try COM-Port 4

There isn't a COM4... just the physical COM1 and COM2, and the COM3 that was created automatically when I plugged the USB cable in.

I uninstalled the UART thing and connected the USB cable connected to the phone on my USB port again. The PC recognized it, and automatically installed the necessary drivers from the CD that came with the cable.

One thing i don't understand: You are using an original DCU-11 datacable. Why you use the UART-driver - i don't think this is the original driver from SonyEricsson.

I never said it was original. I bought the cable.

I have used it previously without a problem, with and without MPE.

Now, all of a sudden, MPE doesn't recognize my phone anymore, and I want to understand why, coz I work with IT (bachelor in Computing Engineering), buit I know shit about how the program works.

I uninstalled those drivers, and when I plug my cable on any USB port, Windows automatically installs this "CP210x UART to USB bridge controller". It doesn't even require any CD.

You said that you use the DCU-11 datacable. Non-original cables for 1€ at ebay are bullshit. Many users have problems with it, mostly they doesn't work.

Had the same problem, but tried the 'stable connection' under 'connection settings' and it worked fine!

If it was the cable's problem, I assume Windows wouldn't recognize it when I plug it after uninstalling drivers, would it?!

No, the cable might work itself - but this says nothing about if the connection to your phone work. And thats the fault from the most 1€-ebay-cables

You know my opinion about those cables. They make always problems - my tipp: Use IrDa or buy an original cable (DCU-11 or DSS-25)

?

Hi. I use USB cable which was in box with my phone. So I think it's an original cable. My phone is M600i. And I also have this problem: "Phone could not be identified". Your program sees com1, com2, USB modem port and SE application com4 port. I tried to connect via com4 and modem port and got "Phone could not be identified". So where may be a problem?
Thank you for any suggestions.

After some hacks =) I was able to connect my phone via modem driver.
Your program downloaded from phone only calls. But when I tried to download other info I got this error: "OBEX Eror: ERROR".
So what have I done wrong?

You are using a M600i which is based on Symbian OS.
