MPE is an excellent app for file managing and I use it both in my phone and my tablet, however, while the sd card files appear without any problem, the extended sd card does not show. Is this the way the program has been created or am I doing something wrong?
External SD card

It seems tht MPE shows the external (or extended it was referred to in this thread) in the directory: system storage/mnt/sdcard2.
So the files MPE shows under SD card are actually still accessible when I remove my SD card.
This seems the wrong way round to me, and very confusing indeed.
If there really is an "internal" SD card, then it would be more helpful if MPE could show that as "internal" but most important the "external" SD card should be listed separately from the root directory, not within the system storage.
As it is it can get really confusing, and would be easy to backup the wrong files etc etc

On my Samsung Galaxy W the external sd card is shown as "/mnt/sdcard/external_sd" and additionally as "/sdcard/external_sd". These are the pathnames shown by the app "OI filemanager" on the smartphone.
MPE (v1.8.4) on my Laptop shows three storage areas: External Storage (which is external_sd), Memory Card (which is sdcard) and System Storage (wich is "/"). As I know it is typical for Samsung smartphones (at least for android version 2.3.6) that external_sd is shown as part of sdcard. sdcard itself physically is part of the builtin memory while external_sd is the additional memory card in the slot.

Thank you the beta version of client also allowed me to see external SD card thank you.
It took me a while to get USB connection (Blue tooth worked fine). For some reason I keep losing ability to get a USB connection - and it comes back when I turn fastboot off and reboot my phone.
Great app, have used it for years - last phone HTC wildfire- no problems on this phone.
Thank you again
Paul
