I have SE w810i and My phone explorer v1.8.0 that I have been using for quite sometime now and regularly archiving the SMS into (Archive-Computer) and deleting from phone. Now I have taken backup of SMS Archive, Phone contacts into an mpb file, as I need to reformat & reinstall Win XP so that I can reinstall My Phone explorer and restore the backup after xp install.
It appears that for restoration from this file, the phone must be connected. I am not sure how this restoration shall happen (i.e. to where) I only want to restore back into the My Phone Explorer interface and not anything on phone. Please help/guide. Thanks
In this case i think its better to copy the data-folder of MyPhoneExplorer. The default location of the data files is: %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer
In worst case its also possible to import the contents of the backupfile without connected phone but since you will not be able to create a new profile without phone the imported data cannot be saved in MyPhoneExplorer. Cause of this its better to copy the data folder.
