Galaxy S2 no longer connects after update/SIM change

Hi,

I had been using MyPhoneExplorer over USB happily for over a year, and it's a fantastic piece of software.

Recently I decided to take the Android update for the phone, and noticed that the "USB Mode" setting had vanished, and that my phone always connected as a storage device. But MyPhoneExplorer still worked, so that was fine.

Then my SIM card went wrong, and I had to request a new one. After inserting the new card and getting the phone working again I discovered it would no longer connect to MyPhoneExplorer. And I can't work out why.

It's in debug mode. My PC and the phone must, presumably still have the same debug drivers. I don't know how to control the USB mode in the new update but the phone is being recognised in Windows and allows me to access the memory card and internal storage.

Here's the error log. Help *very* much appreciated as I rely on this software for SMS alerts at work.

Which Android Version is now on your phone ? Is the setting "USB-Debugging" still enabled on the phone ?

Thanks for the response. I'm struggling without being able to use the software.

The Developer Options > USB Debugging is still enabled.

Android version is listed as 4.0.4

OK, here's an odd thing.

I'd pretty much given up on getting this fixed so I thought I'd see if Kies had improved and re-installed the latest version.

Kies wasn't any better. But oddly it seems to have made MyPhoneExplorer work properly.

So if anyone else hits this issue - worth a try.

So it was a driver issue, KIES does also install/update the ADB-Drivers
