Categorically Outlook

Have finally stopped using Lotus Organizer & exported my LO data to Outlook.
Am getting to learn Outlook & have just completed my first sync with Outlook / MPE / Huawei G300 (Android ICS).
Delighted with results EXCEPT that all the Categories I created in Outlook (Calendar, Notes & Tasks) have been deleted and I now have a new Master Category List that contains s.f.a.
I will have to recreate all my Categories, so my question is: "how do I avoid this happening in future synchronisations?"
p.s. not sure where else to ask this but why are donations to MPE not acknowledged?

Please do not use abbreviations, since the developer (and me) are no english natives.
I can only help partly: If you wish to donate, send him an email (via his Homepage | Impressum | E-Mail)
I also had ended my use of LO, since MPE has the elementary features of such PIM software, but I miss him painfully, e. g. the links to everywhere at the tasks. It was for years the best PIM I could find until last year.
Wish you joy with the best up to date PIM - as I think.

Apologies for the abbreviation - it is a quaint old English expression to explain that there is nothing there : sweet fxxk all!
As I have already made a donation to MPE and still have s.f.a. in my Outlook Categories -neither of my questions has yet been answered.
I am missing Lotus Organizer already.

Thanks for your reply. So what am I doing wrong?
Should I sync from Outlook with either of these 3 options: Sync phonebook (phone) / Sync organizer / Start Multi-Sync
or should I sync from MPE?
If it's the latter should I run : "Start Multi-Sync" or click on the sync icon and individually sync Calls / Organizer / Messages, which is what I did the first time.

Well I have answered one of my 2 questions.
To avoid MPE wiping out all my Outlook Categories, I synchronised by starting Outlook using "Start Multi-Sync" and not via MPE.
Does anyone know the answer to my other question?

It makes no difference which method you chose to start the sync. What is important are the sync settings.

Thank you for that information. I checked my Sync setting in MPE and all were set to Outlook. In the Advanced section the only that was not set to "Sync both" was in Notes where it was set to "Force Outlook -> phone".
Can't see why those settings would produce the result I received.

Sorry for the delay, i was very busy the last days. MyPhoneExplorer will add categories if needed but he will NEVER delete an existing Outlook category. Can you reproduce the issue ?

No worries - glad you are keeping busy.
In fact I could not reproduce the problem (thank goodness) - I suspect it was my fault as I had not set MPE for the 3 sync categories to Outlook.
Now that the Outlook Add-in has been removed, I do the multi-sync from MPE.
