I have Sync photos turned on but I keep getting the error message:
Could not find photo folders on the phone.
How do I tell it where they are? I have tried putting photos in several locations on my phone but they are never found.

Which phone do you use ? In which path you see the photos in the filebrowser of MyPhoneExplorer ?

I have a Motorola Bionic
I don't see the files in MyPhoneExplorer. I think that is the problem. It can't find them on my phone. In my phone they are in:
\Albums
\dcim\Camera
\Pictures
I tried every place I could think of that My Phone Explorer might look. These locations show up when I connect the phone as an external drive to my PC.

These locations show up when I connect the phone as an external drive to my PC.
This is the reason for your problem. When the storage is mounted in windows then the access is exclusive for Windows. This means the phone and also MyPhoneExplorer has no access to the storage. Unmount your card from windows, then it will work

I attach the phone to the computer with USB.
I ejected the two drives that connect when I do that.
I loaded MyPhoneExplorer and attempted to sync photo's. I get the message: Could not find photo folders on the phone!
I do not have an SDK card. Is this the problem? Can I configure where MyPhoneExplorer to looks for them on the phone?

If you cannot find the folders in the filebrowser of MyPhoneExplorer then it must have something to do with your environment about external drives embedded in Windows.
Many phones does have a possibility to unmount the drives from Windows through the notification bar. As a second option: Do you have the possibility to try it via WiFi ?
