Hello
I took a look at the different solutions to sync an Androphonen with Outlook through USB, and thought AndroidSync was a good solution. But it has features/issues so am back testing other applications.
To save time, I'd appreciate any feedback from users who have tried alternatives and finally settled for MPE.
I don't need anything fancy, just syncing Outlook's Calendar + Contacts + Tasks + Notes with my Androphone, but it must be brainless and reliable.
Thank you. |

Based on your needs MyPhoneExplorer should be perfect. But i am the wrong man to compare my own software with others, take a look at http://www.syncdroid.net/ - this is more objective |

It does all that for me. Well, I don't actually use notes or tasks but I have tested these and they do work ('search' the forum here for any idiosyncrasies that people have noticed). I used MPE to sync Outlook 2000 to my own and wife's phone from the same computer, no problems. Then upgraded to Outlook 2010 and it just worked.
You just need a "brain" to set it up in the first place, ensuring you get the sync options correct but otherwise it just works. I would advise a backup of your contacts/calendar/tasks/notes first though just in case you have some "operator issues" ... Oh, and as seems to be the norm when changing "recurring" events within Outlook, there are ways and means to do this to ensure you keep in sync. Again, a 'search' should reveal all.

I've been using it for a week now. It's a first class product with very prompt support. |

Thanks for the feedback.
I started taking a further look at MPE as a way to sync Outlook 2007 with my Samsung Androphone, and have the following questions:
- In "File > Settings > Sync", I see the following options: Contacts = Outlook 2007, Calendar = Outlook 2007, Notes = Outlook 2007. But what about Outlook's Tasks?
- Does the option "Only MPE" means that MPE will only sync between MPE and Android, and won't sync further between MPE and Outlook?
- What is Multi-sync + Sync phonebook/organizer/notes?
Thank you. |

Hi
I moved to Sony Xperia S for the first time in my life. Previously I enjoyed only Nokia phones, and Nokia OVI software. When I moved to Sony, I expected PCC to be at least as good as OVI. It isn't. Its really terrible for connecting - PCC running on my XP Pro SP£ machine refuses to "see" my Xperia S most of the time. I also used to like the way I could edit and generally tidy up my contacts etc., while online to OVI, and using a proper keyboard (much faster). PCC is only a "save" application.
So, I was despairing until I was recommended to use MPE on the Sony Xperia user forum! Now I can do a lot of "OVI-like" stuff, so thanks a lot!!
Just one problem. I've downloaded V1.8.4, and now my phone isn't recognised. Oh no!! Is there a problem?
Regards |

Coming from using Samsung's Kies, I found MPE far faster, more controllable, and more reliable. I would really find it hard to imagine that there's a better solution.
As well as Outlook syncing I find it very good for doing complete and selective backups of my phone data. This is what I use Multi-Sync for - you can set it to copy or synchronise whatever files on your phone you like.
Catnamedog: I found that the new version required a couple of restarts before it worked correctly. |

Hi
When I try to connect using USB, I get an "error 10061 - Connection is Forcefully Rejected". The Help section is no good, so can anyone advise me please? |

I've just removed version 1.8.4, and replaced it with 1.8.3, and it works straight away!!
Until we get some answers, I suggest that if you're having problems with 1.8.4, do as I did. |

@catnamedog: Please install 1.8.4 again, try to connect via USB and then post the logfile. Seems to be a issue which should be fixed |

Hi!
Here as requested is the logfile. I reinstalled 1.8.4, and get the same error message. Strangely, I also get a webcam manager software launching as well (?)

The problem with Webcam manager should be a issue with the Windows Installer, it happens from time to time, long story
There is not only one malfunction in your logfile, even if its not possible to connect MyPhoneExplorer would be also not able to detect if your phone is plugged in. Please exit MyPhoneExplorer, run the taskmanager and check there if you find processes called "adb.exe" or something which has to do with SonyEricsson Companion, or other installed software from SonyEricsson. If yes -> kill |

Hi
My research tells me that adb.exe is part of the Android development kit. It stands for Android Debug Bridge. I guess it's loaded/activated when the phone is plugged into the PC due to USB debugging enabled?
Anyway, in the cause of science, I deleted all adb references in the registry, and got the same 10061 error.
Heres the log:
