I searched for Task Notification, but no one seems to have this problem.
Basically, Tasks have reminders set, but the phone is failing to act on them.
Details: In the MyPhoneExplorer PC application, under Organizer -> Tasks, I created a Task with the reminder set to 'go off' in five minutes. I hit the Synchronize button, and then saw the Task appear in the Android MPE Tasks app's list. I clicked on it, and all the fields were there, just as I entered them from inside the PC application.
Of interest, the Reminder field was checked, with the date and time when the phone was supposed to be triggered. The only problem is, when the time arrived -- -- nothing happened. By that I mean, there's no Notification Sound, and nothing appears in the bar at the top.
I have a sound selected in MPE Tasks (the app) 'More' menu. There are two choices here, Font Size and Notification sound. The latter brings up a submenu reading 'Complete action using' with two choices: Android System, or ES File Explorer (the file manager installed on my phone).
I'm opening the Android System selection, and one of the standard Android sounds is checked.
<S>There's nothing on the phone's Calendar day-view to indicate a Task was set for that date -- don't know whether or not this is normal and expected behavior? </S>
This was answered while searching this forum re: tasks.
Under Android's 'Application settings' -> 'Preferred Install Location' I have the 'Removable SD-card' option checked.
In summary, the Task reminder's time passes without anything on the phone being triggered. Again, the Event reminder notifications are working perfectly -- it's just the Tasks.
Much appreciated if someone with more experience could scan though the above steps, and let me know what I'm missing.

While waiting for a reply, I am doing a general Internet search and what I am finding does not not look encouraging.
My 'Settings' menu does not have a 'Personalize' heading, nor does 'Sound' have a sub-heading for 'Tasks'. I cannot find a 'tic box' for turning on-and-off
'Display Task Notification'.
These items are being discussed on other forums, for 'Android', to adjust Task Notifications -- but unfortunately, with no mention of which version is under discussion. I am guessing this ability varies by version number?
My phone is rooted and I am not adverse to editing a file or two, if that's what's needed to obtain this functionality -- if my suspicion is correct.
Someone has likely done this -- anyone here able to provide a link? |

I have just uninstalled the phone's MPE client, and reinstalled latest version (v_1.0.28) from Google Play, with the phone's preferred installation location set to the phone's internal memory (not to external SD card).
Will continue testing. So far, I can think of nothing else to do ... any suggestions? |

RonCam hat Folgendes geschrieben: | I have just ... reinstalled latest version ... from Google Play, with the phone's preferred installation location set to the phone's internal memory (not to external SD card). |
Problem resolved ... my test task just appeared in the Notification Area/Bar as an " ", a verbal notification (Task Falling due), plus the custom sound set for a Task Notification.
I think the basic problem was the the task notification service wasn't running -- possibly due to the apk not being loaded into the phone's RAM.
Can't ask for anything more -- problem resolved -- thanks for a wonderful piece of software |
