First - This Software ROCKS [ its really good ]
Now "MyPhoneExplorer" now refered to as "MPE"; doesn't support the Nokia:-
But you can grab all the SIM CARD Info from one -
Re-Boot your PC:
Plug in the Nokia via its USB port ...
... you should have the drivers installed! - from the Rubbish Software Nokia supply!
Run MPE ...
Enter Menu Command(s)
-- "F2" -> "Connections" -> "Search for Device" - If it's your only USB device "MPE" will find it!
Click on the "SIM" Tab - the one under "Phone"
Click "Sync" - Give the Connection a NAME - "MPE" will ask for it!
The programme will warn you that not all features are supported! - Click OK - The Sim WILL copy!
-- "note: you can try a 'MultiSync' here - It's your choice" The phone might copy! - 1 # 6310 did, but the other didn't? same model go figure!
Enter Menu Command(s)
-- "Extras" -> "Create backup" -> 'save the file to "somewhere" handy' ...
Pull the Phone [ throw away! ]
Disconnect Cable [ throw away! ]
Turn off/on PC:
Plug in your "Sony Ericsson" USB cable - and the "SE" Phone! - Install the Drivers from the supplied CD: or Download from ...
http://www.sonyericsson.com/downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.6.11.7.exe - be warned it 23 Meg!
Now in all cases - I had to wait ages for the drivers to install! - There are in all 5 Sets? - [ That's on all three sets of phones I'm using! ] - The final driver is for the Ethernet Emulator! - this is faulty, even with the latest driver used from Sony and the Firmware upgrade being followed - Its not used anyhow!
[ I've disabled it (under network properties) - as I got fed up with seeing the message "cable unplugged" message ]
Once your Drivers have been installed -
Run "MPE"
Enter Menu Command(s) (as for the Nokia)
-- "F2" -> "Connections" -> "Search for Device"
--- you may be supprised to see the com port has changed - I was!
---- Again If it's your only USB device "MPE" - will find it!
Enter Menu Command(s) (as for the Nokia - but reverse this time, to a backup)
Enter Menu Command(s)
-- "Extras" -> "Restore backup" -> 'select/re-load the file you saved in "somewhere" handy' ...
If all goes well "MPE" will have the "SIM" Tab full of your contacts
SELECT THE TOP ONE BY CLICK ON THE MOUSE:
GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST:-
PRESSING AND HOLDING THE CTRL KEY CLICK THE MOUSE AGAIN!
All the list should be highlighted - RIGHT CLICK THE MOUSE and select "COPY" ...
goto the "PHONE TAB" in "MPE"
Right Click the MOUSE - you'll see Three optiions [ If it went well! ] They are "New entry" "Copy" and "Paste" - select paste and All Your Entries will be copied to "PHONE" Tab.
- CREATE ANOTHER - BACKUP AS DESCRIBED ABOVE - NAME IT SOMTHING DIFFERENT! -
SYNC your Phone and "MPE" - Edit your Contacts to your Hearts Content!
EN_Dulge! (enjoy) |

Oh my god - ho long you needed to figure this out ? Good description
But i think there is an easier way to move the contacts from Nokia to SE. Install the Nokia-PC-Suite, copy all Contacts into a folder (these are *.vfc-Files). Then import it into MyPhoneExplorer and sync with your SE.
If you want to copy only the SIM-Contacts its easier to insert the SIM from the Nokia into the SE-Phone. |

The Nokia Suite is Rubbish! It wouldn't read the phones "contacts" untill I had the latest drivers installed ... and then wouldn't export any "contacts" any where, no way. It would also freeze the process with alarming regularity. All I could do was edit them, and sync them ...

Unfortunatly the "SE" phones from "T-Mobile" wouldn't accept the SIM cards from "O2" - I was in a real pickle with this lot! - Till I stumbled across your great import/export options in "MPE" -
- AGAIN BRILLIANT PROGRAMME! -
