I'll be clear, I really like MPE and I even made a donation for it BUT I just can't live with the fact it crashes every couple of days and I have to log out to fix it.

I thought about running it in a virtual machine but then you lose the pop up notifications. Has anyone else thought of a clever way to get round this problem?

What alternatives are there to MPE? Please don't say Samsumg Kies!

I would never say kies - it's dreadful!

MPE is the best (only) app of its kind, AFAIK. I would even put it ahead of MyMobiler for Windows now.

Mine hardly ever crashes or freezes (no more/less than most other progs I use) and if it does it's just a click to restart.

I run that antique operating system, Windows XP Pro. NEVER had MPE crash on me. I assume you've posted details of the crashes to attempt to get to the bottom of them?

I agree that MPE is the best, it's got many more features than I ever use - I just used it to maintain the phonebook and send text messages. I think the big problem is that I send a lot of text messages, maybe 400 in a day. I tried to close MPE down every few hours but that doesn't seem to help.

It's basically down to the SGrid control that is used, apparently it can't be replaced.

I explained already the problem to you. But on my PC it happens only if i start MPE really often. F.e. 40 restarts in one hour. If i run MyPhoneExplorer once and its running the whole day then i get no problem -> it seems this is not the case for you. Just as a test: what happens if you do NOT send 400 messages with MyPhoneExplorer every day ?

As alternative you could try AirDroid or Android Manager Wifi

I know you have already explained the problem to me and I appreciate that, however explaining the problem doesn't make it go away.

I have no idea what happens if I don't send that number of text messages. I suppose I could always reboot my machine every hour, that would stop the problem!

Yes, but on the other side its just honest, which is not always the case on other support services

The problem is that this bug does appear after many actions and its nearly impossible to track it. You said that you do not restart MPE over time and yu write 400 messages per day. This could be a start to locate the problem more exactly. Cause of this i think it could help to see what happens if you do not send those 400 messages, just keep MPE connected over the whole day

I've downloaded Airdroid, it seems to work fine, I'll try that now. It appears to be perfect just for text messages.
