I have been using MPE quite successfully with my Droid. I got a new Droid today, have installed MPE on it, and went into MPE on my desktop and deleted my old Droid. Problem is, as soon as I deleted that old connection, all my calendar items in MPE on the desktop were deleted, too!
I am trying to basically sync my Outlook on my desktop (which is the most current) to my new Droid and to my desktop version of MPE. Can someone walk me through how to do that? Is there a way to first get my Outlook appts onto MPE on desktop, and then sync that with my new Droid?
Please provide details. I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks so much,
Cat |

Hi Cat,
did you make a backup before you deleted the old profile?
In this case it would be the easiest way to restore the backup to your new phone.
If not, do you still have your old phone? If so, connect it to MPE, do a backup and restore this to the new one.
Otherwise you can connect your phone to MPE. If (at least one) connection was successful, you should be able to select Outlook as sync source.
best regards... |

What I ended up doing was syncing MPE desktop with my phone (neither had any calendar appts, since the phone was brand new and I had already deleted the info in MPE on my desktop). Then I did as you suggested and chose Outlook 2007 under my settings and I think that worked, for the most part. When I have more time, I will go back and make sure there are no duplicates, etc.
Going forward, though, should I be backing up MPE in addition to making sure that Outlook is always backed up on my desktop?
Is backing up MPE fairly self-explanatory? |

Yes it is. You can check the parts you want to backup and simply save it to a file.
Note: Options which are greyed out, are not supported by your device (i.e. SIM card access) or the android software interface.

It's allways good to know having a good backup and it makes it much more easier if you have to change your device one day.

Personally I just use MPE as the 'middle man' to sync Outlook with my phone. The master copy is always Outlook, with, at the moment, just a few entries having to be sync'ed back from the phone. That way I have no need to backup MPE, or my phone, just Outlook's files on my PC. |
