[Bug] - SMS list: unrecognized phone numbers

In the SMS message list, some messages from the same contact appear with the contact name, other messages with the phone number. Why is that?

Take a look at the contact details in MyPhoneExplorer, maybe the number has a very diffrent format to the sms sender number so MPE is not able to assign the number to the right contact name

Maybe you could simply parse & normalize both numbers (sender & contacts) in such a way they will be shown correctly in the "conversation" window. Easy.

MyPhoneExplorer does already normalize the numbers. Are the numbers different and if yes - how they are different ?

Some messages are missing the international prefix (+39) in my case. This is why MPE fails recognizing the number. Maybe you could default to current country code, when missing?

The prefix should be no problem since MyPhoneExplorer does compare only the last 8 digits. How long is your problematic number ?

It looks like MPE is randomly adding a leading zero when grouping numbers....
Number sample (hiding last 3 digits here for privacy)

1) 03339139... (leading 0)
2) 3339139... (no leading 0)

See the follwing image

You are from italy - right ? As far as i know in italy the leading zero is never truncated. The numbers should look like +39033.... -> or am i wrong ?

But anyway - MyPhoneExplorer will track a matching contact name by comparing only the last 8 digits. How is the number stored in the phonebook ?

_ yes Italy's country code is +39
- there's no leading 0 (not allowed)
- the number is stored without the country code, and without leading zero

Ah - right, i swapped this in my mind ;-)

Again: How is the number saved in your phonebook so i can try to reproduce the problem

I fixed now the problem with the leading zero, please test: http://www.fjsoft.at/files/MyPhoneExplo ... Update.exe

But i was still not able to detect why the contact is not resolved from the phonebook. It works on my PC with this type of numbers.

Installed the beta, sorry, still not working..the offending numbers appearing in MPE are missing the international prefix... maybe should I download again messages from the phone?
Those messages are appearing correctly in the phone conversation...

It is normal that the international prefix is cut off. But this should make no problems in name<->number matching

what can I try?

-> is the leading zero fixed ?
-> open the file %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\general.ini and search if the line ExactNumberCompare=1 does exist (this is a tweak which could also raise your problem). If it does exist then remove the line

No such line

Hmm. How we should continue ?
-> export two sms from screenshot with +3933... as sms-file
-> export two sms from screenshot with 33... as sms-file
-> export the contact which matches to this number as vCard-File

Zipp all 3 files and send them via email to me. No worry about data privacy, i'll delete the files from my PC as soon as the problem is fixed

Mate it's working! :)

I have:
- Updated the address book on the PC
- Updated the messages on the PC

Probably the program did not show correctly data because no changes where applied and the format was still stored incorrectly.

Thanks

Hi
I have a problem with "following" zero in my call list. I'm using MPE version 1.8.4, Phone is SE CEDAR J108

You can see how number which are 6 digits long are displayed correctly, but 7 digits numbers gets zero in the back. But MPE recognizes it to the contact name.

i

Beside that problem, i have a problem with time of call. Every call is registrated 2 hours before real time. Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks
