"Portable" install not saving settings reliably ..

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 and need a way to do SMS messages from my PC. MyPhoneExplorer seems to be ideal for my needs.

After a bit of a struggle (due mainly to the oddity of the Bluetooth software I am using) I got it all working for a standard install :-)

However, ideally I would like the software to exist on my FlashDisk because I move between machines on a regular basis.

I did a "portable" install and it works OK but it doesn't seem to remember my choices particularly in the connection options - they persist for the duration of the session but disappear if I restart the PC end.

The flash drive is F:\ and the launcher I use is "PortableApps" and I've never had a problem with launching an app before with it.

PC is running XP Pro + SP3 + all updates
MyPhoneExplorer is v1.8.2 with the latest Android app I could find.

Any clues/suggestions?
TIA
Dave

The way how MPE does save the settings is identical to the normal version. Was your phone already connected to the protable version ? Are NO settings saved or are only a few missing ?

Hmm .. at bit more info.

I suspect the problem occurs if I forget to switch on Bluetooth - it seems to have lost the config sometimes when I turn it on and reconnect.

It only seems to happen for the "portable" install case.

I'll try to narrow it down a bit more.

The phone app was active and it seems to lose "some" of the config.
