Go to devicemanager and check if you see there an entry called "ADB Interface" or similar. And restart your PC, probably its a driver problem |

Hi & thanx for the reply but still the same problem. I uninstalled HtcSync completely & reinstalled it. Neither HtcSync nor MyPhoneExplorer can connect to the phone. ADB.exe shows in the Task Manager as soon as MyPhoneExplorer runs but no luck. I have tried all suggestions seen in various forums, did whatever HTC support has suggested, restarted the PC many times but nothing happens. Any more ideas? |

Have you tried a different USB cable and/or different port? |

I have tried many ports. Now I use a port directly from the motherboard as suggested at some forum. I cannot try other cables because I only got one & as most users with HTC phones indicate non HTC cables are problematic. |

I use a genuine Nokia cable with no problems. Or I did, until I started using wifi. Much more convenient. Can you try wifi? |

Unfortunately no wi-fi is available. I will try to connect on a laptop to see what happens. |
