Can't sync. Motorola Defy with Windows 7 (native) Contacts

Hi:

Previously, using MPE ver. 1.8.1, I managed to sync between Windows 7 .Contacts and my Motorola Defy. I only did it a few times, but it seemed to work okay.

Phone: Moto Defy
MPE: Ver 1.8.1
Connection: USB

At some point, my MPE on Windows got corrupted or similar, so I uninstalled/reinstalled it. Now, when I install from the same installer .exe, it seems to look different.

I cannot figure out how to sync. Windows Contacts. I configured just
this:

Under Settings--->Connection--->Phone Type: Google Android-OS

I've tried "sync" under "Phone" but all I get is "Please Wait" then "synchronizing phonebook", then it returns me to the main screen.

This is VERY important to me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Okay, FJ helped me out while trying to fix my logon account.

Thanks FJ! You not only write good software, you provide top-quality
support too! I guess I'd better get off my behind and make a donation.

It turns out I did not notice the small print during downloading of the
software and installed the Portable version of MPE. That version will NOT
sync. Contacts.

I installed the normal version, and it seems to be syncing.

FJ: You mentioned in an earlier reply to one of my other posts a few
months ago that you would try to work on having the field: Job Title
transferred (converted) over to Android.

What about these fields?
Personal Title
Nickname
Job Title
Office

Also, in my Windows 7 Contacts, I have written the phone numbers as
(xxx) yyy-zzzz . Is there any way to keep that format (incl. brackets and
dash) on Android? When the sync. is done, the number just becomes
xxxyyyzzzz. I have a learning disability and it would be easier if I could
get the formatting kept the way it is in Windows Contacts.

Thanks again FJ for so much help.
