I want to maintain one Contacts database on my PC and use it to refresh the Contact books on 2 separate phones. I use MPE only for Contacts.
I have been using MPE via USB for a HTC Wildfire to manage my Contacts. I maintain the data on the PC, adding the occasional info on the phone, connect via USB then Sync..it works perfectly....both phone and PC databases are refreshed. I want to add an extra phone, a HTC Wildfire S, and use the same PC-based database for both phones. Both phones connect faultlessly via the USB. The MPE identifies both users. When I connect the new phone and switch to it, the PC displays the data it holds but will not add them to this new phone when I Sync. Any ideas please ? |

I have a similar need and that sounds like a good solution but can you please explain simply how to do it. Sorry I can't see how to do that without a bit more detail.
Thanks. |

I solved it with another approach...I changed my mind about the need to maintain one database for 2 phones. My immediate problem was to get my address book from my older phone to my wife's newer Wildfire S. To do this I simply transferred my large contact list from my older HTC Wildfire to the new Wildfire S using the provided wifi utility on the newer phone. I then set up her PC with her own copy of MPE. We now maintain our own address books on our separate PC's, wirelessly synchronising phones and PCs separately. This makes sense as we have our own contacts as well as common contacts. |

Thanks for the reply and suggestion DougB, unfortunately it's not going to work for me.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Android which I use as a mini computer as a pocketable laptop substitute, (connecting to the internet by wi-fi when available or through a giffgaff sim when needed - incidentally a brilliant service, among other great deals for a generous amount of data they charge just 20p per day payg, i.e. one fifth of a GBP for non-UK readers, check gifgaff.com - not advertising, honest!). While for less demanding good old fashioned phone usage and and the extreme convenience of true 'forget it's even there' pocketability, I'm hanging on to my SonyEric C902 for as long as possible and that's what goes with me everywhere.
So I want to be able to add or search contacts and diary items when I'm out with just the C902 but have the same facility on the Android when I'm at home or I've gone somewhere that warranted taking that larger item.
The Android is set up to use Google contacts and calendar of course so I need to be able to sync that with the Sony Ericsson and I research so far suggests that through My Phone Explorer would be feasible and best but I'm still struggling with exactly how. Maybe I'll start a new thread.
Cheers |

Solution 1:
- sync your C902 via MyPhoneExplorer with Google
- sync your Galaxy with Google (it will sync automatically, without MyPhoneExplorer)
Solution 2:
- sync both phones with MyPhoneExplorer to the same target
- you can set up a sync traget in Menu-File-Settings-Sync |

Thanks very much, solution 1 is exactly what I wanted but I didn't previously know it was available just from existing menu options.
Unfortunately I cannot make it work. Have explained and asked for further advice here: http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/viewtopic.php?p=68593#68593
Cheers. |
