Can't keep connection alive

I've done an reinstallation of my pc, and after that I keep losing the connection between my HTC Desire and my computer (MyPhoneExplorer). This wasn't a problem before.
Why can't the connection stay alive, and is it possible to get it to stay alive again and if so how?

Wierd, for the last half day, I haven't experiend any "drop-outs", when the phone is in the dock.
Which is good, if it doesn't come back...
But, if I take my phone with me, and plug it in when I'm getting back, it don't automatically reconnects, despite MyPhoneExplorer is running on both the computer and the phone. It just stays "not connected" and I have to manually connect.
And as late as last week, I experienced that a textmessage wasn't synced with the computer, again despite both programs was running and was connected. Again I have to manually sync to get the textmessage from the phone to the computer.
I had none of these problems before I reinstalled my pc.

I have the same problem plus it automatically disconects randomly.
Maybe it's solved

I just updated the program, and now it'll keep the connection alive.
If I unplug the phone for 20 min., and then plug it in again, it aumatically starts sync.
So it seems to be working now, maybe something is corrected in the new version.

On the phone? Nope, I just don't see the icon on the status bar anymore

Disconnecting the phone from the USB port and reconnecting it gets rid of that error, but it is a pain in the xxx having to do that every 30 minutes give or take.
