SMS transfer problems

I am having intermitent problems with MPE transfering text messages from my phone to my PC. Most of the time the transfer works OK but occassionally some messages are not transferred while others are. This problem seems to be with messages received from one sender/phone number, however, this problem does not occur every time. When the transfer of texts fails then those texts will not transfer later while others from the same sender/phone number will.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Phone: Sony Ericcson K800i
Firmware: R8BF003 080130 2133 CXC1250210_GENERIC_WI
Connection: USB
MPE-version: 1.8.1
OS: WinXP-SP3

How many messages you have saved on the phone ? Did you move them to SD card ?

i have a similar problem with mpe 1.8.1. on windows xp mpe transfer only a few messages from all (964). on windows 7 mpe tranfer 376 messages from all messages. there is no error during transfering-transfer window just disappear. i have se w800i.

I am having problems dowloading sms to pc. First run it d/l 19 msgs, 2nd run was 49 msgs...then I managed 495 msgs. The process shows it is downloading 3017 messages on my SE vivaz pro but I can't get more than 495 in inbox and about 20 in sent. The bulk of my msgs are definitely in the inbox but why wont they download?

@babi: The W800i has a sms-limit of 200 messages. You did mod your phone, in this problem its normal to get such problems.

@renegate: Also a known problem of all Symbian-based phones. This is a bug in the phones software, the only chance is:
- restart your phone
- reduce the number of messages in the phone
