I'm having a similar problem where MPE starts with the flash screen and then it crashed after displaying the program window for a second. There is no error message showing.

I tried running the problem in compatibility mode in XP w/SP3, and the same problem exist.

I'm running with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Thanks.

Just figured out the problem...which could be an issue.

I have the regional setup to use Traditional Chinese for non-unicode program. Once I switched this over to English, I was able to start the program.
