Not all Outlook Contacts transferring into Android phone

I have 635 contacts in my Outlook 2010, when I do a sync(Outlook to phone only), I see 633 entries in phoneexplorer, but my actual contacts on my phone are only numbering 573. For some reason not all my contacts are coming over and also I seem to be missing approx 60 entries in my phone that phonexplorer says is there. I have made sure that the check mark is not set to skip contacts with no phone numbers. One of the entries in Outlook that is not coming over is my wife's contact info.

I have deleted all the contacts off the phone and have tried a resync multiple times but no luck. I have my android account set to "phone only" as I don't want it tied to my google account.

Is there a problem with high number address books and syncing or is there a way to reset everything and start over from scratch , or any other thoughts.

update - Strange behavior indeed - I was able to get closer by having the phone use my google account for contacts (unsynced with Google) rather than using the droids phone storage. Maybe a glitch that you can't use have to use a google account for contact storage.

I still had a few Outlook contacts that would not come over to Outlook - recreated them from scratch and then they came over - not sure why they wouldn't.

I do see phoneexplorer reporting some duplicates, so I deleted them from phoneexplorer and resynced with Outlock(two0way) and can see that they are gone and the real contact count has changed, but the count in the lower right hand corner of phone explorer doesn't ever change(Stays at 633 on my pc even though I am down to 613 really - It almost looks like it is not working right for Android phones. I redownload contacts from the phone thinking it would update that number, but it doesn't change.

Glitchy, but all my contacts are there which is the most important thing.

Thanks,
Michael

I am having a similar problem but I am not sure if I am creating my own problem. I am saving the phione numbers in PEOPLE on the android.

I dont actually use outlook but I think the only numbers I get when I use download contacts in my phone explorer, are from out look and in most cases put there by face book..............somehow.

Its a mine field.

@Guitar1969: The second button in Toolbar (Download entire) is your friend to fix your problem. I tthink the phone does not show all contacts cause some of them got joined by Android-system. About 1000 contacts should be no problem for sync.

@ukracer: Take a look at the settings of the client and restrict the accounts/calendars for sync with MPE

@Guitar1969:
I guess I just had a similar problem: Outlook and MPE showed 1069 contacts - the contacts app on the phone just failed to come up with certain contacts on search. However, I was able to set these contacts as quickdial shortcut on the homescreen; and the option "delete all contacts" listed 1069 contacts as well.
The root cause was pretty simple: not all of my Outlook contacts have a category assigned - and by default (?) the phone did not show the uncategorized contacts.
As soon as I changed the display options (press group icon in upper left corner, select Phone contacts and scroll down the list of categories; activate "all others" and you're done) all the missing people appeared again.

Hi, I found a similar problem in this issue, using ANDROID and OUTLOOK.
As I found out, when you have the name of the contacts in OUTLOOK (the items were "archieved as" exactly as they are shown below):
---
# "John Doe - 1"
# "111111111"

# "John Smith - 1"
# "222222222"
---
The application (MPE) will show stored the contacts as:
---
# "John 1"
# "111111111"

# "John 1"
# "222222222"
---
It seems the sw takes de first and last word to store in it and in the phone, ommiting middle names. As they had become duplicated records, the phone considers only one record, and it can make some confusions on the data. It showed on my phone as:
---
# "John 1"
# "111111111"
# "222222222"
---

Well, as I tried to figure a way to solve this, I changed my records on OUTLOOK removing the blank space between the last word and the one before it:
---
# "John Doe-1"
# "111111111"

# "John Smith-1"
# "222222222"
---
It appeared to remove the confusion and solved the problem.
Some things I also could see regarding this are:
- this app does not sync the contacts from the phone with mailing groups created from outlook, so it may have less records than outlook contacts if you have these groups;
- different records with the same numbers will show only one item.

FJ, your SW rocks, thanks for bringing it free, thats the reason I am helping. Feel free to add or correct my words or delete it.

Regards,
Tiago.

The current version 1.8.1 should also sync the middlename (even if not showed in myPhoneExplorer). Are you sure that they are not synced ?
