Google "custom" fields don't sync

Hi,

in Google contacts there is an option to use a "custom" phone field, so instead of being limited to the usual (mobile, home, work...etc.) you can make your own field name like "work mobile", but the problem is that those fields do not sync at all with MPE. Is there a work around, or shall this be in a wishlist?

I don't think this is a limitation of MPE

"NOTE: NONE of the Google Custom Title fields will sync! If you create a phone number and assign it to a “custom” category instead of the traditional “home, work, mobile, other, etc.”, this number WILL NOT sync to outlook. FURTHERMORE, it is a very likely possibility that THE ENTIRE CONTACT WILL NOT SYNC TO OUTLOOK.

Hi Spile,

Thanks for the reply.

I do not see that not syncing with outlook dictates that it "cannot" sync with MPE, if the outlook fields cannot accomodate the custom fields, because it was not designed to, there is no reason that MPE cannot do it as well, as it is contrarily is supposed to do so.

It will not work for sync with outlook but inside the GUI of MyPhoneExplorer you should be able to view/edit all fields in the next Version of MyPhoneExplorer

Did you end up not adding custom fields? I too agree you shouldn't take example from Outlook's stubbornness.

Custom phone fields are implemented since v1.8.2 (October 2011)
