Hi,
I use the MPE to sn my contacts from Outlook to the GN1 Android phone.
The problem I have is related to some telephone numbers such as "Main Company telephone", "Company telephone 2" and other which did not sync with the app.
Is there any option to fix this.
Thanks! |

The problem is that contact fields are different between Outlook and Google meaning that some do not transfer directly or not at all. There are various webpages thatd etails them but one is here ... http://androidforums.com/droid-how-tips/18809-guide-database-field-differences-between-outlook-google-contacts-syncing.html ... there could well be other threads on this within the MPE forums here.
Personally, I use Outlook on my PC and I haven't found any that don't match up. But then again I don't use my phone for business so probably don't use enough details to cause any problems. |

MyPhoneExplorer only properly syncrhonizes the following 16 data fields with Outlook. Beware! All other data fields will be deleted from your Outlook database upon resynchronization of your phone with Outlook. Fields like "Categories", "Business2 phone", "Home2 phone", "Other address", etc. won't transfer to your phone, and then will effectively be deleted from Outlook if the phone is synchronized back to Outlook!
1. First name
2. Last name
3. Company name
4. Home phone
5. Mobile phone
6. Business phone
7. Fax
8. Other phone
9. Home address
10. Work address
11. Email1
12. Email2
13. Email3
14. Web page
15. Info/Notes
16. Birthday
Nowadays, you can automatically syncrhonize all of Outlook's data fields for contacts and calendar with your Android device, for free, without using any third party software or apps, by simply adding a free Hotmail account to Outlook and to your Android device. The Hotmail contacts folder and calendar will appear in the left sidebar of Outlook. (You can just copy and paste your current Outlook contacts into it.) And your contacts and calendar items will appear on your phone. (You don't have to use Hotmail for email. You can still use Gmail or whatever you like.) Details are at the following link.

MyPhoneExplorer still has a lot of great features. But for me Hotmail is a much better, seamless way to synchronize contacts and calendars between my Outlook-based desktop PC, my Outlook-based laptop PC, and my Android devices. Once you add a Hotmail account, the syncrhonization happens automatically over any Internet connection, with no other user intervention. |
