Phone locks up

I just bought the new HTC Inspire 4G offered through ATT here in the US. Their HTC Sync has a problem and cannot sync with my Outlook 2003 calendar (contacts, docs, music, gallery all sync no problem). I found your software and it does the trick nicely but shortly after I sync, my phone runs VERY slowly, almost to the point of locking up. The only method that I have determined to remedy this is to remove the battery.
I know this phone is not listed on supported phones and that may be the problem but I have seen this phone identified as an HTC Desire and thought it to be similar enough to try.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Brian

Did you sync via WLAN or via USB?
Try to enable USB-Debugging if it is not checked already and then restart your phone. There is a known bug in Froyo ("/Init-Bug") that slows down the phone. As a workarround enabling USB-Debugging should solve this issue.

Hope this will help.

best regards...

Thank you for the quick reply.
I am using the USB interface and I am using USB-Debugging. I made sure of that as I have seen this mentioned in other discussions.

I have the 1.8.1 version of the download but the client version?? is 1.0.7? I'm not sure if that makes sense to you or not.

Another approach that I have tried is to close the application on the PC and then to Uninstall the app on the phone to see if that helps but it does not.

Regards.

This is fine. Since android phones have only been introduced to MPE since 1.8 the version numeration between pc software and the client software for android differ.

As for your problem: This is kind of odd. Are you able to reboot your device, after your disconnected the software? Is the problem gone afterwards?

Can you please send a debug log of your client software to fj or post it here.

I'm having the exact same problem with my HTC Inspire using Wifi. Has this issue been resolved?

I am also having this problem on a Samsung Galaxy S (SGH-T959). I have found that upon exiting the application (regardless of whether a sync has taken place) something seems to take up nearly all of the CPU on the phone as the phone becomes extremely slow to the point of being unresponsive. Rebooting the phone (by holding the power button in for an extended period of time) returns it to normal.

Known bug on some Samsung models - disable Bluetooth when the client exits. This issue is fixed on new firmware upgrades
