I downloaded the new version of Myphoneexplorer 1.8.1 but upon installation I get error messages saying it cannot open the version and cannot read some files. I was given the choice of aborting, retrying or cancelling. I tried retrying and it didn't work. When I chose ignore it continued the installation, but then when myphoneexplorer opened, it had not updated the version from 1.8 and no new features appeared.

Can you help?

I also have a problem with the new version. It installed properly, but now as soon as I open it the program crashes...

just tested it myself. Works fine on Win7 Professional 32bit.

What OS are you using? Please post debug log (-> see FAQ) for MPE crashes

Just to say that I installed it on XP Pro SP3 and it works fine. Even detected that I needed to update the app on the phone and did that also. Then synced fine.

I am using Windows Ultimate 64Bit, MS Office 10 and HTC Desire.
When I installed it could not find the Office files to sync with. so have gone back to prev version

I was finally able to run MPE ver 1.8.0 with ViewPad7 on my PC
after I install and reinstall MPE ver 1.8.1

Every time, the problem show the logo splash and then crash immediately

Yeah, that's what happens for me too. Splash screen then crash. Windows XP Home Edition, SP3.

- Go to Start-Run-%appdata%-OK
- Rename the folder MyPhoneExplorer to MyPhoneExplorer_backup
- try again to launch MyPhoneExplorer

Doesn't work for me, I get the error when I try to install it, not run it...

1.8.1 - Crash after splash window
1.8.0 - Crash while connecting to Android phone and refresh message folder
