I have successfully been abe to run the software I am out of town using the hotels wi-fi and i have not been able to sync. I have used my cable and tried wi-fi. I keep getting this same error.

If you are connected to a Hotspot then i'm sure the Hotspot is configured to hide local connected devices. In the next version of MyPhoneExplorer you'll be able to enter the IP of the phone manually and so the problem should get fixed

OK, please read the FAQ and if you have still no success then post the logfile after you tried to connect

I guess the adb portion of the install is new. i have a nexus one. I found this info to install rather than using the adb info you provided for samsung.

I am not sure how to install once i open the menu "key +r" i am not sure what this means. I typed devmgmt.msc and I found myyself lost.

"Winbdows key + r" means the same as Start-Run

Just activate USB-Debugging in phone, plug in the phone and tell windows the path of the needed drivers (the package you downloaded for your Nexus)

I believe I am having problems updating the nexus s driver sdk file. I downloaded it and extracted it. Then I go into the device manager right click to update nexus s and route it to the file I get a message saying unable to update driver.

One more question, is this file needed to resolve the sync with usb rather than the WIFI? Because USB connection is failing once the WIFI stopped working.

it seems like MPE doesnt "see" your device".

Did you enable "USB Debugging"?

I just spoke to samsung. The Nexus S and Nexus one do not have drivers and therefore USB-Debugging must be deactived.

Everything works fine.

ok, so you do access your phone over wifi (thus there is no usb debugging needed), or did it work over usb (without usb debugging ... which would be a first ).

I am having the same failure issue with whether usb-debugging is on or off. Nothing has changed on my end.

MPE doesnt recognize your Phone. To be honest, I'm not sure if there are ADB Drivers for the Nexus S available yet.

For a workaround, try using WIFI instead of usb for the moment or install the correct ADB Drivers AND enable USB Debugging!

Samsung says there are no drivers required for the phone it works sometimnes. As far as the Wifi and USB are concerned either they both work or neither work. I also get a new message when before the failure message comes up, it "address in use"

Uninstall-Reinstall, fixed the problem.

Which did you uninstall-reinstall, pc or phone app?

I uninstalled the PC app.

The phone works fine. The only issue is that I have not been able to get the USB sync to work. i do all the normal steps and uncheck the USB-debugging box and turn off Wifi.

YOU NEED the usb debugging for USB Connection!
