well, that just about says it all
the phone updates
the desktop app updates
I get a sync confirm screen, click on ok, nothing is updated in outlook
not the calendar, not the contacts, nothing

Do you use any security-addons for Outlook ? Did you confirm the Security-Alert which is shown from Outlook when you run the sync ?

I don't use any security add ons and I didn't see any security alerts

is the myPhoneExplore supposed to be inactive in Outlook? because it is. Does it just activate during the sync and then deactivate itself? I tried activating it; it didn't help.

The Outlook Addin has nothing to do with the Sync, its additional. Please do a sync. In the sync-dialog you choose some items to be edited/created in Outlook. Then post the logfile

sorry, i didn't realize how long that was, here's an edited version so you can see the end. PS, I get the same thing with trying to update contacts to outlook. One thing I should note; my outlook and my outlook files are on my D drive. My C drive is a SSHD and I restrict it to system software. Also, This is Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 64bit, if that helps any. I7.

Please check the selected Outlook-Calendar in the sync-settings and then try it again

I have it working now, but I don't know why.

I had tried it with both my personal calendar and the outlook calendar in the past.

Before, every time I tried to run the setup or run a sync with outlook running I would get a hang up or an error. For example, if outlook was running, I couldn't select which calendar I wanted. I would get the error message "there is already an open instance of outlook." So I thought it was supposed to run with outlook closed. For some reason (I forgot it was on in the background) this time it ran with outlook open and everything worked the way it should (duh).

This is right up there with "hey lady, is it plugged in?" But really, why was it NOT working with outlook open before this?

This kind of problems are not very often with Outlook, but i hear them from time to time. The reason: unknown

I have seen (many times) that although Outlook is "closed" the outlook.exe process is still running (it will show up in Task Manager). You can start Outlook again but with the other outlook.exe process also still running, programs that try to interface with Outlook will try to connect to the first process and will fail or encounter difficulties.

If you have problems with it again, close Outlook and check Task Manager to see if the outlook.exe process is still running. If it is, kill it and restart Outlook.
