Sync Calendar with Android

I’m using MyPhoneExplorer 1.8.0 on desktop and MyPhoneExplorer Client 1.0.6 on Samsung Galaxy S with Android. Synchronizing Outlook 2010 Calendar. I tried synchronizing several times, made some setup mistakes of both client and desktop in the way, and end up now in a state that the desktop application claims that I have appointments on my Android although I manually deleted them month by month (is there a delete all option?). The desktop application tries to delete them from the Android (it take hours) and transfer nothing to the phone, and I end up with the same situation. I tried to uninstall and re-install both client and desktop applications. Nothing had changed. Tried to create a new massage on the Android (as proposed in a similar post) – no change.
Is there a good way, which I can start fresh clean with all history forgotten, and also make sure I’m making it the right way?
Many thanks.

You can switch the Calendar View to "list" and in this way, you can delete them pretty fast (if this is what you want)! If you want to get all calendar entries from your phone again (disregarding changes made on the pc) you might give the "download entire" option a try!
On the other Hand, I myself am using "Lightning" and "Provider for Google Calendar" in combination with Thunderbird to edit my Google Calendars. If you sync your Calendars with Google, maybe this is an option for you! Not sure if there is an option in Outlook 2010. I've not been using Outlook for years...
Hope this helps,
Stefan

Thank you Stefan,
The “list view” is very efficient to delete all data.
Unfortunately, passing the Calendar through email is not an option for me, although it seems as the most supported route.
I’ll try to start everything from scratch. One trouble is that I’ve got many appointment duplications now in my outlook; I’ll try to find a utility to get rid of them before. The second trouble is that each iteration takes very long time. The Calendar synchronization takes long hours (do anyone understand why?), and I find the MyPhoneExplorer passing to the phone old information beyond the selected definition of “past 30 days + all future”
Best,
ga

There is a known problem on the Galaxy S with the calendar. The inbuild calendar-apps does walk throught the whole database as soon as one item gets added/deleted. This works good for a time but on a specific point the connections is cut off and the sync fails.
Please connect your phone via USB and run MPE in debugmode (Start-Run-myphoneexplorer debug-OK). Then sync, if it works now then ou had luck, if not please send me the file %appdata%\MyPhoneExplorer\AndroidDebug.txt

Thank you all for your help.
The problem is solved; the summary of the actions is below.
Basically the problem was to delete all calendar entries in the Android. Three operations are needed for this:
1. Go to Setting -> Application -> Manage applications -> Select the All tab -> Calendar -> Press Clear Data.
2. Go to Setting -> Application -> Manage applications -> Select the All tab -> Calendar Storage -> Press Clear Data.
3. Enter into the Calendar -> Select the List view -> Select Delete from the menu -> Select All events at the top -> Press Delete.
At MPE I removed the current user in order to clear its entries and started a new one.
All works fine now.

Same problem with SGS

I'm using Outlook 2010 and come from an enterprise background, so for me it's a true business tool. My contacts list is just short of 1,000 entries, and my (recently trimmed down) calendar has almost 4,500 entries. This made me very worried when I read above that the SGS calendar goes through the entire data base whenever an entry is changed.
I used KIES a few times, then it started hanging, so I gave up on it.
My sync carries on for ages, then crashes to the point of me having to use Windows Task Explorer to close it.
Two days ago I ran it with the debug option and it took almost 12 hours to run, but not everything was transferred to the phone. Last night I tried again (without the debug option) and this morning it was hanging on Windows, and the phone had disconnected.
Your program looks excellent, with a good selection of advanced options, so I would really like to use it, as nothing else I've seen comes close to my needs.
I've been using Linux since 1993, so am more than willing to help debug. I've cleared the phone data, and will try once more to sync.

When I chose a far smaller set (90 days back & 750 days into the future), the initial sync took 45 minutes. My initial estimate was 39 minutes, based on an observation of about 3 seconds per item.
I made one change on the phone and synced again, and it took just over 2 minutes to figure out what had changed, but the update itself was fast. "Compare only changed events" is off.

Basicly there is a connection-problem with the samsung. If MyPhoneExplorer creates the 1890's event then the connection drops (don't ask me why just on this amount, it was tested by another user). The bad thing is that the connection does NOT drop when debugging is enabled (to be more exact: as soon MyPhoneExplorer loads the Logcat-Stream from phone it works). So its really difficult to find the cause for this problem.

3 seconds seem OK. MyPhoneExplorer cannot control the performance about adding appointments on phone. On my phone it needs 0,5 seconds but i think you can life also with 3 seconds.

Enable "Compare only changed events" and try it again

Thank you for the reply, FJ. I have been using and syncing PDAs for over 10 years, and the Samsung Android is the slowest in that regard. I noticed their version number for the calendar app is 1.0, so hopefully they'll fix its issues.
The not dropping when debugging could be related to a timing issue, or to when the garbage collector kicks in. I work at a software development company, and in one of the apps the guys are worried about making it faster, because of complex threading interaction that might break as a result. It could be something similar here.
Maybe it's an idea to enable it, but to throw the results away unless the user wants the log?
I switched on "changed events only", and it took 17 seconds to discover one change to an appointment today, so that's much better. I recall from reading elsewhere on the forum that keeping it on means that some repeat event changes aren't noticed. What else should I watch out for when keeping it on?

The Logcat produces really big files and so it generates much traffic. i don't want to enable this by default cause there is "just one model" with this problem.

Thank you so much ga! This helped me as I too spent day/night sync-ing!
Then finally when I almost gave up, googled and came across your post.....magic!
Briefly, I upgraded my iphone 3 to samsung s2 this year as I was after an app that ran much faster than on iPhone. I asked the salesperson if the s2 would sync with outlook as it did seamlessly with iPhone. He told it did but I needed Kies. The rest is history! I now know that outlook only syncs easily via itunes and kies was an alternative for s2. I too found kies with all the probs of sync. Then my search began and came across this post which had lesser teething probs than kies, and thanks to you I too have resolved the problem with your clear instructions.
The usb sync does not work as well as wi-fi but useful only if you wish to see it as a virtual drive in my computer on your pc (after working out de-bugging on s2 thus:
Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging (tick to debug).
So far so good. I am sure fj will improve and fix this great MPE that seems to work. To sync in wi-fi as you know you have download MPE on your pc as well as download the client app on your s2 to connect the two. Then just follow the steps and instructions.
