Lost calendar after Android update

Hello all.
I've been using MyPhoneExplorer for a couple of years, first on a SonyEricsson K750i and lately on a Xperia X10 mini with Android - worked flawlessly every time (a big thank you for this piece of brilliance).

Today I got a software upgrade and now my phone's calendar is empty after synchronizing.

Details:
MyPhoneExplorer is 1.8.0
PC is Windows XP Pro SP3, I'm logged as admin
the phone is connected via USB, debugging and usb storage enabled
the phone says firmware 2.1-update1, kernel 2.6.29, build 2.0.A.0.504

What am I trying to do:
- sync the address book with one of Thunderbird's
- sync the calendar with an .ics file on disk
(same settings used since I first connected this phone, have worked ok till today)

What happens:
- MyPhoneExplorer Client on phone says it is connected, monitor shows battery level
- address book is indeed synchronized fine
- phone calendar is empty

Well, it's empty looking thru the phone touchscreen - the software shows the phone calendar as populated with the correct events... Same when I tryed to sync straight from a Thunderbird calendar or from a Google calendar.

My best guess:
assuming the phone calendar is written down as a file, the software writes/synchs with a file in a set location, while after the upgrade the phone calendar looks for the calendar file somewhere else.

Any idea? Thanks in advance

Create first a appointment in the phones calendar. I think the phones calendar database is not intialized
