Hello to all,
I have been using this piece of art for a while and I absolutely love it! (Im talking about the program, of course....my phone is a different story).
Anyway, I have a W380a, and I have noticed since I did the last update that everytime I receive an incoming SMS, the time is off by 4 hours. ie. A message received at 12.26am is showing as coming 8.26pm of the day before.
Hmm, I know there is an issue with outgoing (sent) messages in regards to time, but I havent found a post -or may have not come upon one- in regards to incoming issues.
FYI, I am on GMT -8hr, if I am not mistaken. Also, my computer time and my phone are both synchronized. I read in a post that the time of the recv'd sms is dictated by the provider, and its correctly displayed on the phone, but not on MyPhoneExp. I got v1.7.3.
Thanks for any replies!

Is the timestamp also wrong in the original PC-Suite ?
Please doubleclick the message in MPE, press on ">>" and the post the "PDU-Code" here. |

This is the PDU:
07917150979603F2040B912105989627F600009070610012442903C8721E
And the PC-suite, well, seems to be worse: a message I received last night, Jule 15th, shows received on July 14th in the morning
Hmm, now I dont know or clue in as to what s going on.
Thanks for replying!

The message came from Victoria (Canada). Currently there is GMT-7 but the Timestamp of the message shows GMT-3. So it seems that the fault comes from the Servicecenter which deliveres the wrong Timezone. MyPhoneExplorer did not calculate the Timezone earlier but there were many users with problems cause the message were not shown correct when it came from another timezone - so i integrated the Timezonehandling.
I will wait some weeks to see how many users have problems with the Timezones. If its a common problem of many serviceproviders then i think i'll make something to turn this Timezonehandling off in MyPhoneExplorer. |

Hello,
I ask my parents to send me a test sms, as their time zone is 3 hours ahead, and here is the PDU:
07917150979603F1040B916131624530F000009070619005802907C8329BFDFE8100
So far, all the messages I received with wrong timing are from Victoria. Can you notice anything different?

Hmm - its also delivered with GMT-3
Currently i'm not sure i should handle this in future. If you wnat then you can test and find diffrences yourself, just enter the PDU-Code in PDU-Spy and press "decode". |

Cool, thanks!
Miguel
pS: I think it may possibly the phone but as to why, not sure. I used my old W300i and did a test, and time is ok. |

Hmm - are you sure ? I always thought that the PDU-Code is untouched from phone - it comes directly from the servicecenter... |

Yup, yup, false alarm. I noticed I got a PDU of a message from about a month ago. There is definitely something cheesy going on with my provider. O well, thanks a lot for the quick responses and great job on your apps. |

So, FYI, I was lucky enough to have all your versions of MPE on my backup drive. I decided to do an uninstall of 1.7.3 and install 1.7.2...and timestamp is working now.
I will keep it with that version in the meantime.

Hmm - its also a solution, but its not a good solution. Give me some time to see how much problems appear with SMS-Times....
PS.: I have also all MPE-Versions on my PC - if you need in future nother version |

Hi,
First, thanks for that great application.
Do you have any update regarding this matter?
It would be interesting if users can set it depending on the accurency of SMSC timestamp..
Tested with Satio and MPE v1.8.1:
Correct time shown for SMS in Satio (Time Zone correctly set) but time difference in MPE.. |
