version 2.1 is out :)

This is a minor version that adds a link to your menu, and fixes some bugs in the desktop link.

running your 2.0 version should update the script for you, alternatively, download the new version here:

For a desktop launcher open a new textfile with following text:

Code: Alles auswählen

[Desktop Entry]
Name=MyPhoneExplorer
Exec=env WINEPREFIX="~/.wine" wine "C:\\MyPhoneExplorer\\MyPhoneExplorer\\MyPhoneExplorer.exe"
Type=Application
StartupWMClass=Wine
Path=~/.wine/dosdevices/c:/windows/profiles/<USERNAME>/Startmenu/Programme/MyPhoneExplorer
Icon=e022_myphoneexplorer.0
Maybe you have to change the path and you have to replace <USERNAME> with your username.
I don't know if the icon works, but you can choose another by right click> Properties and choose another icon.

Hi there, can you try running the script with the -u flag (like this:)

Code: Alles auswählen

 '/home/snak3/My Phone Installer/myphoneinstaller2.1.sh' -u
Thanks,

It works only with the stable connection.
Send message should work! I don't know about picSync...

version 2.5 is out! bluetooth support is now included... although I am not sure about how stable it is for others, I have found it to be very stable :)

uninstalling your version of MPE with the -u argument on my previous installer and re-running will hopefully download the new version for you 8)

if there are any problems, as usual, tell me :wink:

http://www.fjsoft.at/forum/forumspace/f ... ler.tar.gz

p.s the script now automatically adds permissions to /dev/ttyACM0

works like a charm

Thanks a lot!!

Your script works fine for me.

In MPE-options "stable connection" has to be checked to get the connection working.

My config:
OS: Ubuntu 8.04
Phone: W300i
Connectiontype: USB
scriptversion: 2.5

Hey s0l1dsnak3123,

I have a new(?) idea for your script:
Do you know winetricks? Instead of manually download and install e.g. the vb6-runtime, you can just use the command

Code: Alles auswählen

~> winetricks vb6run
It downloads and installs the runtime correctly.
Maybe there are other useful things for you, just have a look on

Code: Alles auswählen

~> winetricks --help
(There is no man-entry :( )

I've also never heard of this before. But i did only install wine (version 1.0-rc1, i don't know if it was also installed before), tried wine + TAB on the console and had a look on all these commands... :wink:

Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron

Just to let you know, a lot of people seem to be having problems with Wine on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. A new security feature was added that disables the first 64KB of memory. If you are having trouble running Wine, try running the following from a terminal:

Code: Alles auswählen

sudo sysctl vm.mmap_min_addr=0
Then run Wine again. If this fixes it for you, you need to edit your sysctl.conf file to make this change permanent:

Code: Alles auswählen

sudo gedit /etc/sysctl.conf
(replace gedit with the editor on your system, e.g. mousepad for xubuntu)

Edit the line "vm.mmap_min_addr = 65536" and set the value to 0.

I am having more problems than just this "preloader failed" error on ubuntu, but I had no such problems with xubuntu for some reason!

Ed.

Hi,
i`m a new linux-user (beginner), using ubuntu 8.04 and wine 0.9.59
i used MPE under windows-vista and tried now to install it with the script.
it worked fine, but i`m not able to connect my SE K750i with MPE, using the usb-cable. the error: search completed, no ports available.

Thanks a lot !

It works :D So i finally can say "goodby to windows".

Thanks a lot !

New version out!

This version now uses winetricks to install the vb6 runtimes and msxml3.
It will now also give you the output of the bluetooth test once the program is finished installing.

Or update your previous version :D
