The requests never end... I hope you have the patience to read all this.

1. FAVOURITES
This worked well in MPE 1.6.4, but in 1.6.6 I can only see the favourites that are NOT in a group (i.e. placed in "root" of the favourites). Am I the only one experiencing this problem?
I thought the groups were GREAT! I've created a separate group for each project I'm working on...

2a. INAPPROPRIATE CHARACTERS IN PHONE NUMBERS
I often copy the phonenumber from some webpage and paste it into the MPE dial window. MPE doesn't mind spaces in the phone number, but it clearly dislikes hyphens! (ASCII Chr 45)
In Sweden, hyphen is unfortunately the most common way to delimit the number from the area code, e.g. 070-123 45 67, and it has to be removed manually. Could MPE perhabs be configured to disregard this hyphen character?

2b. IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE...
Ok, I might be out on deep water here, but here we go: As an example, the program Wordfinder (a translation program) can be activated with ALT + RIGHT SHIFT. If a word is highlighted/marked in another program (e.g. Internet Explorer) and this key combination is pressed, the program will activate and look this word up. How great it would be if MPE could do a similar thing:
You highlight a phone number on a webpage (or in a document), press the HotkeyDial (or HotkeySMS), and MPE would activate - with this phonenumber already in the dial (or SMS) window...

3. PHONE KEYPAD EMULATION
I use this a lot since I have a W850 placed in a deskstand and it's tricky to use the phone's buttons. Often when you call a company there is an automatic answering service, and you have to press different numbers to be connected to the right department. A configurable hotkey command to access the keypad quickly would be really nice!

4. VOLUME CONTROL DURING CALL
In the CallMonitor it's possible to change the volume during a call. But...
With a high resolution screen, the click-area for decreasing the volume is really small, and sometimes I've accidently raised the volume instead of lowering it!
This is not that fun when you have a customer/girlfriend/other-annoying-person shouting in your headset...
Could this perhabs be replaced by real buttons (+/-) or something that is easier to hit? Or - even better - emulation from the +/- buttons of the keyboard's numeric keypad!

@Ed: I always had in mind that MyPhoneExplorer should be NOT a complete replacement for Sunbird or oder Organizers. But i'll take a look at it and if its not much work you'll get your feature.

2b) Already implemented - take a look in the settings for "Show dialwindows automatical). MyPhoneExplorer will popup the dialwindow whenever you copy a phonenumberlike string into the clipboard (or CTRL+C).
3) Also possible: Check the FAQ for commandlineactions. Then create a link on your desktop or startmenu and set a Hotkey for this link
4) I'll take a look at it.

1) Errm... I guess there is no problem actually, I just checked it on a colleague's computer (who still runs 1.6.4), and it behaved the same way.
Somehow, I had got the idea that with the favourites in the dial-window, a sub-menu would fold out for each group (with the possibility to call a specific member of the selected group).
So, this 'non-existing-problem' suddenly became a request !

2b) I can't believe I missed that checkbox before? I thought I had tried everything... One problem though, it works a little too good...
90% of my copy/paste operations (e.g. in Excel) now results in a dial window and lost focus of the program that I'm working in. Sadly, I had to turn this nice feature off...
How about a HotKey (that can be edited)?
But I discovered another good thing: When copying to the clipboard, the hyphens (ascii 45) are removed in MPE!!

3) Again, why didn't I think of this? But... (there's always a but...) this works fine maybe 5 times out of 10...
The other times MPE freezes, or restores the original window, or just hangs... And sometimes the Windows Taskbar disappears...
This has never happened when accessing the Keypad from the menu or the trayicon...

2b) You should look i littlebit exacter into the settingswindow. You can already set a global Hotkey for the Dialwindow. By default its set to CTRL+F6. The Dialwindow will take the number also out of the clipboard if you open it with the hotkey.

3) It works for me perfect, i don't know what happens on your PC. Please understand that i don't want to add a global Hotkey for every little window.

2b) I have been using this Hotkey, but I've never discovered that it actually does take the number from the clipboard (until now, that is)!! So, this means that 2a & 2b are already 'fixed'!

3) I understand completely if you don't want to add Hotkeys for everything, hence the 'oops-smiley'. It was just a wish.
I also understand that it's impossible to know why things work on some computers and not on others!

Back to 1) I think its only a misunderstand: In the callwindow there are only direct favorites shown. I didn't integrate them in this menu cause i think groups are mostly used to send a message to multiple persons. A submenu would be an idea but i think it makes a bad GUI if there are hundrets of contacts in a group. Did you realize that you can use also autocomplete to search a number ? Just press the first few chars into the numberfield - MyPhoneExplorer should do the rest.

Yes I guess it's kind of a misunderstanding, the groups work fine in the SMS-window.
My mind must have played me a trick when I recalled that there used to be submenus for each group in the dial-window - sorry for that!!

I see what you mean if there are hundreds of contacts in a group (expensive SMS though!! )
I had only a few members in each group, something like this:
- Family (4 members)
- Friends (14 members)
- Co-workers (18 members)
- Customers in project A (5 members)
- Customers in project B (7 members)
- And so on...

And yes, I've discovered the autocomplete function earlier, very nice feature! Thanks for the tip though, hopefully it comes to use for others as well!

I'm interested in portable verrsion of MPE.

i see in the new version of program there is no download java button... at files tab... is a good option... from there i copy programs from the phone... to my computer and send them to my friends... because u need the kit... of the program so i can send them... even via bluetooth... sry for my english... maybe u will put back that button...

This button has nothing to do with the version - the button still exists in v1.6.6 . But only for some phone which support this "hack"

Thank you for all your hard work.

I archive all my SMS. Between moving/coping to archive, auto archive and multiple receipt of the same SMS (same time & Text), duplicate items get stored in the archive.

A feature to remove duplicates (with alert box to ask for user confirmation) would be very handy.

Sorry, forgot to add...

When deleting items in the archive, the focus is reset to the top of the archive. This makes it more difficult to manually delete items (sorted by Message) as we have to scroll back and find where we were.

Can something be done about this?

MyPhoneExplorer asks already if there are already duplicates in the archive. The only exception are autoarchived messages.

Please create pgp/gpg signatures for all downloads. Or at least publish md5 hashes.
I want to be sure that the files that I download have not been tampered with. There are hackers that spread malware via infected websites.

This Prog is written in VB, so it can't be easily translated to mac IMHO.

In Edit contact, it is only possible to open one contact at a time.

Sometimes, for transferring numbers/data from one contact to another/new contact, it would be nice to be able to open more that 1 contact at a time.

Would it be possible (in new versions)?

The kontacts-window is modal cause of some internal storage-reasons. Its not easy to do that - i think its better to keep it as it is now.
