ahh yeh, sorry about that... I'm working on a fix - for some reason the MyPhoneExplorer dir is not being copied to ~/.wine/drive_c/(your program file directory)/

"Program files" is the correct directory.

So something have to be done.

A quick sulotion for this is just to create a "Programme" catalog in ~/drive_c/

The program will start in German, but this is easily changed.

Update:

Apparently I could only start the program 2 times.
I get this message, then it closes

well I could tell you that, but I would be lying I'd say we should wait until it hits 2.0 before it is stable enough for official use.

I will look into this once I have upgraded and taken a look at weinbi's version. Thanks for the heads up.

That is a really weird error I cannot re-create, can you please delete your ~/.wine directory and start again? (This will delete any other programs you have working in wine by the way)

  The script now has an uninstall feature, just in case things go wrong.. just use "./myphoneinstaller1.8.sh --uninstall" to remove everything that the script installs.
  I have replaced the shortcut on the desktop with a shell script, as I was getting errors with it in ubuntu hardy.
  Fixed the regfile... again

The only thing that needs fixing is the "succesfully: command not found" error, which I am working on. I think this project is very close to completion

With this script, everything worked fine - so no problems on my openSuSE 10.3/KDE3.5.7/Linux 2.6.22.17-0.1-default/wine 0.9.60 - System.

@weinbe: You should be able to edit both Linux-HowTo's (german and english). I think its the best to set a link with description on top of the first post and a text "If the above script doesn't work, then read below..." .

My Phone Installer 2.0 is out!

New features since 1.0:

1.5:

• Cleaned up the code to make it easier to understand and smaller physically. (its almost half the size it was Razz)
  The script now cleans up after its self once it's finished installing MPE.
  The script is now licenced under the GPL.
  The script now has command args to download the GPL and show help.

1.7:

• script automatically checks for the German and English directories, and will ask the user for the path otherwise.
  fixed links in script
  fixed reg file

1.8:

  fixed various errors that were causing files to be appended instead of overwritten.
  fixed the infamous "succesfully: command not found" error
  replaced all "["s with "[["s which fixed many errors.
  replaced some "="s with "=="s which also fixed many errors
  added the desktop shortcut again, and added a loader script that would do all the backend dirty work.

haha, that is a good question... what I did was I redirected the output to the "bit bucket", so it wouldn't come up on the screen. It is a harmless bug, and it doesn't effect the script in any way, so why inspect it any further?

for example: "&>" sends the output and "/dev/null" is a file that excepts anything and deletes it AKA the "bit bucket"

The problem was that the output of the command was being ran as a command for some reason... that is all I know
