Good. That's answered a couple of questions.Steve M hat geschrieben:That gets us no where.
Yes I restated and booted every thing before I even posted on here. both are on the same network.
You need to know the ip address of your phone (in the wifi advanced settings usually - depends on your installed SW). Then from a 'cmd' window on the PC type 'ping <ip address>. What that tells you is if the PC can actually communicate with the phone. If they can't that would explain MPE not talking.Steve M hat geschrieben:... What do you think the result of pinging a phone that says waiting for connection on it will be and How do you ping anyway. I said I had little technical or product knowledge. ...
Extensively. But I like them to answer the questions I've asked or else it's actually very difficult to help them. Plus of course the natural 'terseness' of emails/forum postings/PCs generally sometimes makes it seem people are being rude/don't care when the opposite is true.Steve M hat geschrieben: .... Have you had any training in communicating with the public? ...
BTW: I'm just another MPE user and nothing to do with FJ or the other moderators!
No I don't know. The 'nightly' versions contains all the latest bug fixes/changes that FJ has made to the code so it could have been something he did. There is a 'changelog' that comes up straight after installation but that doesn't say anything specific. It could just have been the process of updating the MPE version that did the trick. You know how Windows can act sometimes.Steve M hat geschrieben: .... I will repeat the question again for you and if you don't know just say so. What is the Nightly version and why did it likely to have worked with it and not the standard version?
Anyhow, glad you're sorted.
