what do you mean? I don't have any special characters that I am aware of. Could you explain. Also, is it possible to fix it? My profile name is generated automatically so I guess other users may have a similar problem

In your profile-folder there is a file called extensions.rdf. Please send me this file

Your extensions.rdf had a littlebit changed structure. I fixed it, please try it again with the current patch.

thankX for the work! I cannot however access the link but I think the syntax is not completely correct (patch/url bit).
Anyway, I downloaded the patch and I will try tomorrow to see if it works!

OK, we are one step further. So, the software does not claim anymore that there is something wrong with the ad-on. My phone now displays "synchronizing" when I try to sync the phone and TB. But then a new window opens saying "script on this page stopped responding" or something like that and then I get the error message "loading entires from TB failed".
In summary, I can sync calls, SMSs etc but not my calendar. I extended the sync time to 60 sec but it does not help.
Any clue?

What type of calendar do you use? Local? CalDAV, WebDAV, Google or which?
Does the item export work when called by hand, as I asked earlier in the thread?

Local using Lightning and it exports as i have shown you. Basically it seems that the connection to the Calendar bit is not working. Let me know what other additional info, files etc I could send to you.

The errormessage from thunderbird should not happen; it means the extension got into a endless loop. So, here are some questions for you:

1) How many items do you have in your calendar?

2) How long takes a manual export of your items into a text file:

thunderbird -mpe export-items=c:\items.txt

3) When the sync fails, do you get any error messages in thunderbirds Javascript console?

So, NP, any clue? I would love to move on with it but, short of a new install (and even then I am afraid it won't work) I don't know what to do.
I still don't get what is the nature of the bug.

When I open MPE now, go to "options/sync (tb selected) and click on advanced, I get the next screen (profile etc) and then I get a total program crash.

Hi, I was away for two days (and will be again tomorrow), so let's move this forward.

What version of lightning do you have installed? The error message suggests that you have a version with WCAP included, but you dont use WCAP, right?

I think your problems might be related to your thunderbird profile. What calendar specific options do you have in your prefs.js?

Additionally, try to create a second thunderbird profile and see if it exhibits the same behaviour.

OK guys. Lightning is the latest .5 pre version. I tired to sync with WCAP and without. I guess I'll just delete the entire TB profile and reinstall everything from scratch and then let you know. I will not however touch the files in my /Documents and Settings/ folder, otherwise I'll lose the mail settings, or should I do that as well?
