Normally aspell.exe should be closed after the Message-Window is unloaded (f.e. through click on X). Please verify if it does NOT close the process after closing the window.

I can confirm it does not. 5 aspell.exe processes were running, I sent a new text, the window closed and and then there were 6 aspell processes running. I'm running 64 bit Windows 7, using a Sony Ericsson 800i

I can also confirm that cut does not work, it just deletes. Pasting after just pastes whatever is on the clipboard.

Do NOT send the message. Just open the window, close it and look if aspell.exe ist still running

Yeah it the process is killed if you do that - just not if the message has been sent, why is that?

The window is unloaded after the message is sent - in case that the delivery failed to show the window again. I think something does not work ther. I'll take a look at it

Can you add a possibility to save phone screenshots as *.PNG format? I sometimes use them but I have to save it as BMP first and then convert to PNG

Today I had an idea: what about adding an option to check how much $$$ have we spent taking into account all the messages sent?

I mean, add a dialog box where we can input the cost of each message (here in argentina, for claro, it's ARS $0,26 per message), and then have the program figure out how much money have we spent by multiplying the number we put in the box by the number of messages sent (either in the phone's messages or in the archive)

Is this possible? I think it'd be nice to be able to have an idea of how much money do we spend on our messages :p

Export the messages as html-Page. on the bottom you'll see how many SMS-brackets were used. You just need to multiply this value with the cost per message

i would like to request a log window
that display all activity of MPE in it current process
and categorized, just like console window in firefox or error console in opera

what it display is human readable, like:
send message to...
message sent to...
message delivered to...
downloading message from phone
etc

if possible, i would like it to be saved to a file too

the reason is, sometime we text many poeple continously
to the extent we can not see delivery report pop up
and since the status of sent message can not be saved,
we'll never know whether the message already delivered or not
until the recipient reply our message

This feature is really impressive. But I'd really love to have the option to MERGE contacts when syncing. Now i have someone in my phone (name, phone), someone in GContacts (name, email) and when syncing there are three options: use phone, use G, never sync in future. That's not very useful. I guess that this is quite common scenario. Even "add to GoogleContact" and "add to Phone contact" would be useful.

@gabri.ns: The current version keeps displaying the deliver-info if you set the sms-notification to popup-window

@Tomáš Fejfar: It was already requested. I will not add this funktionality cause its hard to make a intuitive concept for this functionality. Sync both items to phone and then use the join-feature inside MPE (select 2 - 5 contacts-> rightclick -> join contacts)

I have issues with the way the Contact Picture is administered.

I like to keep all my Contact Pictures in a folder on the phone with descriptive file names. For example:
"...\Phone Memory\picture\Contacts\John Doe 01.jpg"

With this in mind I would like to be able to specify a folder on the phone for my Contact Pics in MPE.
I would also like to be able to keep the source filename or rename the file when uploading. Obviously, this needs to include checks to prevent overwriting existing files.

The fact that this functionality is not available would not be a problem if my existing Contact Pictures were not affected. Currently, when a contact with a picture is edited, the Contact Pic is updated from the existing file to a new file specified by MPE. So:
"...\Phone Memory\picture\Contacts\John Doe 01.jpg"
would become:
"...\Phone Memory\picture\PB.jpg"

This functionality prevents me from manually administering my Contact Pictures through MPE.
I am forced to move the file using the phone interface and I am forced to do this every time I update a contact with a picture.

I especially like the Image Wizard functionality to upload a pic to a Contact. If this used a Contact Folder and Filename specified by the user, it would easily solve the problem.

OK, I only wanted to bring this to your attention, but now I'm on a roll so here's another idea

It would be super cool to have an import wizard which could scan a source folder on the PC and using filenames (or tags in the file) would attempt to match the picture with a contact on the phone.
All suggested assignments would be listed on a preview screen and the user could Check/Uncheck them to specify which ones they want to update.

It may be the case that there is more than one file for a particular name:
"John Doe 01.jpg"
"John Doe 02.jpg"
"John Doe 03.jpg"
These could be grouped together and the user would choose one to assign to the contact.
This could also be done on a delta basis to identify source pictures that were modified or created since the last time the wizard was run.
It might be useful to allow the user to upload the pictures as they are, or to open each one in the Image Wizard before uploading.

It would be even better if I could run this wizard against my Facebook friends. That is where I get most of my contact pics anyway. It would require an interface to Facebook though.
As most people have many, many different profile pics on Facebook, this might need to be done one contact at a time:
Right click on a contact in the list.
Find Contact pic from >
- Facebook
- BeBo
- Skype

Once the picture is selected, it could be opened in the Image Wizard as a Contact Pic.

One way to get around the need for an interface to Facebook, would be to have a browser plugin that allowed the user to click on an image on a web page (You've guessed it, Facebook) and open it in the Image Wizard.

It would also be very useful to cache Contact Pictures on the PC when they are being uploaded. This would allow them to be uploaded again without needing to edit them again using the Image Wizard.

I know that's a big wish list, but all I really need is the option to specify where the contacts are saved on the phone and to keep the existing filenames.

I think it's time I shut up now, sorry for going on too long.

I also don't like the behavior of storing the contactpictures when they get edited in MPE. Fact is: MyPhoneExplorer can send only the picture-data with the contact. Without path and destination. If MyPhoneExplorer does not send the picture-data with the contact then the phone unlinks the photo. The next point is: If you edit just the note or another field then MyPhoneExplorer has to send also the photo with the contact and the phone creates a duplicate file - but there is no way to overide this issue.

Collect photos: Good idea, but really much work. Not every communitiy has a API to access data and if there exists an API then it is often accessible only throught browser-scripting which makes it hard/near impossible to integrate it into desktop apps.

A stand alone version of the "Monitor" Page would be awsome, to be able to monitor while tethering and such.

If you include the option to never send Pictures with the Contact, would this allow the user to manage the contact manually on the phone and still be able to edit other fields through MPE without affecting the contact pics?

I'll just have to tolerate having a picture folder full of PBxx.jpg files.

Maybe it would be possible to update the phones firmware to use a different folder for the pics. If I could get them out of the Picture folder, I wouldn't care about the filename.

You're right about the Facebook integration. It would be too much work to add an API for every community out there. If you could right click an image in a web page and open it in Image Wizard would be a more generic solution.
Of course this would be much more useful if you could attach the pic to a contact via Image Wizard, but that will still suffer the above problem.

I've just checked with SE PC Suite and it has the same behaviour when receiving contacts with pics.

What I would like to suggest is a basic SMS web interface for MPE

I have the idea of being able to send a SMS via my SE on which MPE is running on... rather being at the computer... I can connect using my web browser and send/receive sms?

I suggest this as sometimes theres a need to send SMS without being near the computer... but my computer is connected to the internet. and having a web interface would be a tool... esp the enviroment I work in... as multible users could send SMS

Thanks, now I understand what broke my contact pictures, I edited some details in MPE, but my contact pictures were also, like yours, collected in non-default folder.

Possible workaround: maintain that same non-default folder, to collect and view your contact pictures, but use manage files on the phone (or MPE) to copy them all to the default folder too?

On sync its only possible to read/write the binary data of the picture, its not possible to do something with filenames or the path. Cause of this your suggest will not help - i know its a pity, but there is no way to change this behavior.
