Updated my HTC one to android 4.3. Seems to now use "MTP mode" as usb protocol rendering MPE unable to connect with phone with usb cable.
Ive switched on developer options (why has google tried to hide it?) and usb debugging. Is it possible to switch off MTP mode? Will it need an MPE developer ugrade to fix this problem.
I have never been able to connect phone and laptop via wifi - anyone know how i can find the ip address of my phone so i can enter it manually?
Thanks
android 4.3 MTP mode

On Windows XP after the HTC One Android V4.3 update, connecting by USB caused the system to prompt for the CDC Serial driver and Android Phone driver.
What worked for me was:
1) Disconnect the phone from the USB port
2a + 2b) Install latest HTC Sync software (V2.4..., which includes latest drivers for HTC One), then de-install the HTC Sync part, leaving the drivers in place.
3) Connect the phone and select Do Nothing for the pop-up box that happens when you connect a storage device
4) Use MPE and voila, it worked.
I did not need to turn off MTP mode. You will need USB debugging enabled. You may need the latest ADB drivers, although I believe that's been fixed within the latest MPE download.
Good luck.
Cheers, Colin.
