Thunderbird: Personal Address Book vs. Contacts

I just installed this program and it seems to work well, but when I did my first sync, the contacts on my Android phone were synced to my "Personal Address Book" in Thunderbird. I use the "Contacts" section/book in Thunderbird and wanted to sync with that list. Is that possible, or do I need to move all of my items in "Contacts" to "Personal Address Book" in order to accomplish a good sync? I don't remember why I have "Contacts" in Thunderbird-- I don't think it's a default. Maybe it was created from an earlier sync with another e-mail program (Outlook?) or from another non-Android phone.

Thunderbird differs between contacts you store there by yourself and (mail)addresses collected from your emails.
This might be a good chance to fuse double entries into one.

In the MPE you can check "Don´t sync this contact anymore in future".
This might help if you don´t wanna change anything.

Thank you for your help. I have moved all of my "Contacts" into "Personal Address Book" and deleted the "Contacts" folder. Now, for another question, if you don't mind: Can I sync the information in the Thunderbird "Other" field with my Android phone? If so, what needs to be done? Do I need to add another field to each Android contact? Do I need to put the data from the "Other" field in some other location to accomplish the sync?

Following up on my previous inquiry with respect to the "Other" field. Any ideas?

Which "Other" field do you mean ? The "Note" field in the Tab "Other" is synced as contact note to the phone. The 4 userdefined fields in Thunderbird cannot be synced to the phone.

Yes, thank you -- what I meant was the NOTES field under the OTHER tab in Thunderbird.

Per your response, this field is supposed to show up as a contact note on Android. It doesn't seem to be doing that, so maybe I'm doing something wrong when I sync. I will try again and get back to you.
