How can I delete all my contacts from MPE?

I recently made many major changes to my Outlook contacts and deleted about half of them (intentionally). Now I want to sync those to MPE. Then I'll connect my phone and sync it to the new Outlook contacts. When I open MPE, I see all of my old contacts still there. I want to delete all of those and replace them with my updated contacts from Outlook. I selected all contacts in MPE and clicked on the red X to "Delete Selected Entries". All that happened was that each contact is marked with a red X. I can't figure out how to delete them.

How can I delete all contacts from MPE and replace them with my new contacts from Outlook? Thanks!

Probably easiest to change sync setting to Outlook > Phone. Re-sync, accept deletions on phone and then change sync back to Outlook <> Phone
