Backing up messages from android phones

Hi. I have previously used MPE to back up and save my text messages to my pc. Because the non-android versions of the software only worked with Sony Ericsson phones, for many years I bought only SE phones just because backing up txt messages is really important to me.

I'm now looking to buy a new android phone and have read that the android version of MPE works with many android phones not just SE android phones, which is certainly good news. However, what I would like to know is whether the android version of MPE has a sms message backing up function like the non-android version of MPE did. Further if does have such a facility, does it work for all android phones? If not, which ones would it work for? Its really important to me to save my texts to my pc, but I really dont want to buy a SE phones this time if I can help it.

MyPhoneExplorer for Android supports mainly the same functions as for the older SE-Versions. I mean "mainly" with little exceptions, for example Android has no onboard Notes application, so it is not possible to synchronise your notes.
