Call History - Entries not matching

Beitrag von Hari »

Thank you for the extremely useful software (MPE).

Currently, I use MPE 1.7.4 on Windows XP with Japanese language display/entry also enabled. However, as advised for non-Unicode programs the language setting is English. I use MPE with Sony Ericsson P1i mobile phone. The whole things work fine, except for a couple of issues which I thought of bringing to notice.

(a) I see that the Calls History that is shown using MPE and the call history that is viewed on the phone are not matching fully. For example, some entries are missed out in MPE. In some cases, there are extra entries in MPE. E.g. when there is a missed call, only this entry is shown on phone. However, on MPE there is a missed call entry as well as received call entry (with the same telephone number, date & time).

(b) When viewing the "Current List" of "All" calls in MS Excel, the type of call (e.g. dialled, missed etc.) icon/information is not shown. Is there anyway to "export" this information also?

If I am doing something incorrect, please let me know how I can resolve the above two issues.

If you need the logfile (I can resync the PC & phone and then create a new logfile), I can send the same.

Thank you for help.

With Merry X-Mas & Happy New Year Greetings

(a) If you resfresh the call-list then MyPhoneExplorer downloads the complete list from phone - this list is often not complete. All calls after refreshing with a orange symbol come from phone, the other are archived from MPE

(b) Menu-Extras-Current list-Open in... is not designed for exporting data. Select the calls->rightclick->Export selected entries

Thank you for your response.

To recall, I use MPE 1.7.4 on WinXP with SE P1i

a) Based on your response, I checked out a bit further and following are my observations:

- There are orange & non-orange entries as described by you

- Assuming that the call list is sorted on descending date/time, I expected all orange entries to be at the top (no call deletions made on the phone) followed by non-orange entries. However, orange entries also appear after non-orange entries. Was not sure how this would happen

- Quite often (not sure if this is always the case) an extra RC entry appears with a corresponding MC entry with same number and time.

- Some entries are missing in the MIDDLE of the MPE list (but viewable on my phone). Assuming archiving takes place for entries which are older than a certain date/time, was not sure if there can be missing entries in the middle of the MPE list.

- I have exported the MPE List to MS Excel and created a smaller list (with names and numbers masked) which would illustrate the above. Formatting of the same is lost if I paste it below. If required, I can separately email the same.

b) For exporting call list, I will use the export option.

Would appreciate if you could revert back on the above. Thanks.

MPE does also create its own entries in this list throught the callmanager. This ones are always gray and they should be deleted on the next call-sync if the entry is also in the phone (with the same time).

The call-list which is read out from MPE is often not exactly like the one in the phone. but this is an issue of the phone and not from MPE
