You need following rights to install MPE:
- Read/Write access to the system directory (C:\WINDOWS\system32)
- ReadWrite acces to the programfolder (C:\Programs)
- Read/Write acces to the whole registry - for registring the Sport.dll |

Thank you for your quick response
I dont quite understand it though. How come all other things work? I have never had problems installing other programs, and even the system administrator account fails. do you have an idea as to how to give said rights to ny user account??

Could you possibly give me the reg key so that can enter it manually, because as far as I can see I have full rights to regdb, but perhaps a manually enterd key would help???

There are more Keys to register. You said the setup fails - i think you have no acces to place the file into the system-directory. |

Hi again.
Now im not quite sure what system directory you are refering to.
As far as I can see all files get copied to where they should go. SPort.dll is also to be found i c:\windows\system32, where I can add and delete flies as I please
It must be something i REGDB that is stopping me. I find other MyPhone dll's registrede in the REGDB when searching, but where were SPort.dll surposed to go??
Also the error i get when installing does not stop the install. It just says' Try as administrator.....' and continues as if all is ok.
I am convinced you are rigth about me lacking some rights to some part of the registry, but I dont know which and how to get them.
That said I am now using the old version, and it is so much better than what SE surplies, yhat it is hard to understand they havent bougth you out yet!!!
Best regards Torben |

Before you use Version 1.3.3 try this:
In the system32-Folder there is also the file regsvr32.exe. Drop the SPort.dll to regsvr32.exe and so the file is manually registred.
If this not helps i have no more ideas. |

Hi again
Tried it, same result
'Please run this program from the Administrator account so it can set up your license. Once the license is set up, you can run it from any account.'
The next message is that it faild to initialize the dll. I am running XP Pro sp2 Danish. Could the be the problem?
I was hpoeing you knew where in the regdb it was surposed to be registred. Oh Well I stick to version 1.3.3. What is the latest version WITHOUT SPort.dll`?

I will looking today at evening for the reg-values you need. MyPhoneExplorer 1.4.5 without SPort.dll is not possible. |
