MPE freezing after latest Windows 11 updates

I tried to open MPE this morning and after opening for a few seconds, it would freeze and become unresponsive. I had to kill the process to close it.

I tried updating to v2.3 which didn't fix this. I then completely uninstalled the program, rebooted, and installed v2.3. This also didn't fix it. It froze after I navigated to the MPE settings. After a few clicks, it froze. I was able to disable automatic check for updates before it froze, so that isn't the problem.

I've been using the program for years, and it was working yesterday.

I noticed that Windows 11 installed two security updates last night:
2026-04 Security Update (KB5083769) (26200.8246)
2026-04 .NET Framework Security Update (KB5082417)

I tried uninstalling the second one (KB5082417), rebooted, and this did not fix the problem. Windows would not allow me to uninstall the first one (KB5083769).

This might be a coincidence, but the timing seems suspicious. I've had other programs break with Windows 11 security updates in the past, so that is my first suspicion. Nothing else has changed on this computer since yesterday.

My computer is running Windows 11 25H2 build 26200.8246. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S25+.

I also installed the April Windows Update with the specified build number. But I haven't any problems with MPE and various Android devices...

I have the same problem as Lee. MPE freezes after a couple of seconds and killing is the only solution. I tried to update to latest version 2.3 but didn´t help.
I´m using W11 and motorola g-32 with Android 13

Is there a way to contact support? I have been using MPE for many years and I also have a problem where it freezes each time I launch. I thought it was the previous version that have the issue which prompted me to download the latest version but it's also happening immediately after launching it.

Same problem.
Desktop v 2.3 freezes after security updates Windows 11.
I uninstalled en installed several times. I can't get through the settings, it freezes after one or a few clicks.
Also uninstalled en installed again the app on my Samsung S23

I too am experiencing the problem of MPE freezing since last Windows update.
Running Windows 11 Pro
32 GB RAM
SSD Drive

So I did uninstall KB5083769 and MPE started working again... so that's the one. Windows is now trying to reinstall it though!

I can also confirm I uninstalled only KB5083769 and MPE 2.3 is working again with Windows 11 and a Samsung S21

Ditto. Uninstall Windows11 update KB5083769 and all MPE functions appear to be restored.

Install the latest MPE beta version, this should fix the problem!

Besides other techniques MyPhoneExplorer did enumerate all UPnP devices in reach to find the IP address of the phone - its basicly the same list as you see in "Network" on your PC. The way how MyPhoneExplorer did this was nut fully documented so i think there was somewhere a memory leak raised throught the windows update. But the UPnP enumeration is not really important for MyPhoneExplorer so i did disable this part to fix the issue.
